Well, the Lakers picked a great time to play their worst game of the season. The Suns offense was clicking but the Lakers offered no resistance at all and on offense looked completely clueless.
Games are 2 halves for a reason but it would take a miracle to get back in this game. So far the Lakers have played scared and thats not the way to play a confident team, even if the dont win this one i hope they at least play the 2nd half like they have a pair.
Unless the Lakers are intending on hitting the angel dust before game 3 it wont be any different.
I had alot of faith in this team for game 2, but they came out in the biggest game of the season with a "deer in the headlights" look on them that mentally strong teams just dont have. Kobe for all his bad shots last game is the only one who plays like he has a pair. We needed Kwame to have a big game and what did he give us? We needed Lamar to camp him self down in the low post and demand the ball and what happened? Luke cant throw it in the ocean and most of his looks have been from 12ft and in.
We may play better than this in future games but this game says alot about this teams heart and mental toughness. I dont even know what to say about Smush.
Great teams (even good ones) rise to the challenge, even when they are over matched you still see them give it everything. The Lakers were not one of those teams when it mattered most and for a fan of that team it is very disappointing.
I understand the Suns are a much better team than us, so to have any chance we have to play hard. If you dont do that you are not even giving yourself that chance.
Hopefully we can take a page out of the Heat books and come back from a 0-2 series deficit. Take it one game at a time and don't even think about being down 0-2. Only think about the next game and winning it. We do that and we have a chance.
I hate how Phil doesn't see that every time he brings Smush in the Suns go on a big run lead by Barbosa. And we need to start Bynum, Mike D is right, he IS horrible(Kwame).
All Phoenix needs to do is win one in L.A, and finnish it back in Phoenix. I'm intrigued about tomorrows Denver/S.A matchup, should be good stuff. Miami needs to show up and take the Bulls series so Detroit can get there revenger and sweep there asses in the next round.
Also, did anyone see Thunder Dan's over the should halfcourt shot?
