Then on top of that, Shaq's statistics are a little better than Nash's overall PLUS (and this is a big plus) he is much better at defense. Shaq makes other teams have to adjust on defense and on offense. Nash only makes the other team have to adjust their defense.

that wasnt toward you, that was toward Link, Link is right for one part, but not the other, as Woody Paige once said "You got the right string, but the wrong yo-yo." 😆 Shaq definatley makes his teammates better, but to say Wade is nowhere near as good without is wrong. Wade is almost the same without Shaq, maybe a very little worse, but thats it.

I know it was more directed at Link. But just to verify, I was letting it be known that the whole thing started with Nash or Shaq for MVP.

Kool - It doesn't make sense to not give Shaq MVP just because it is easier for him to dominate. That fact is that he dominates.

How many championships did LA win again? oh, 3x as many as Detroit. 😐 Lets not go ***-for-tat when it comes to championships or dynasties...we know who wins that war. LA had to go down sometime, better Detroit than San Antonio. And 2nd place in the East lands them right about 5th place in the West.

Wade's 39 points were against the Chicago Bulls. The same team who's best player is a rookie named Ben Gordon, who just so happened to lead all Bulls scorers with a monsterous 14 points. The score in the first quarter was 38 to 24. It was a route all game.

here's where that bball I.Q of yours kick you in your ass again...gordon isnt the best player on the bulls...since shaq was out that meant chicago got to double team, and focus there defense on wade and he still dropped 39 points on them...think brother think....yea the lakers won 3 championships but that was in the past, but since that isnt gonna happen for quite some time again i guess i can see why you like to bring that up but detriot is the team to beat in the present so all this "my lakers won 3 champions" and "but detroit plays in the east" is old and irrelavent...to be the man, you gotta beat the man...whooooo!!!!

another thing would be that the west isnt that domintant anymore, they still dont play defense (besides the spurs), and miami is neck and neck with the suns for 1st place in the NBA, and unless miami beats detriot in the playoffs (which i personally dont see happening) than an eastern team is gonna win it all again

I guess that makes sense. You would have to go back to Larry Bird winning the MVP for the last player who wasnt a known defensive force. I would be happy with either Shaq or Nash, more so with Nash because its alot easier for Shaq to make an impact because of his size (not saying thats all he has but its definitely easier for him). Players like Nash are good for the league, they are unselfish and focus on the basics and in a league filled with so many pri-madonnas its refreshing. Who do you guys like for the coach of the year so far? I realise that D'Antoni, Pop and Van Gundy are probably in the lead but i like what Carlisle has done with Indiana. After all the shit that team has been through they have stuck with it and if they get Jermaine back for the playoffs they could make some noise. George Karl may be in the running if he was there since the start of the season, Fratello has done well to, carrying on after Hubie left. Any other candidates?

doc rivers and scott skiles should be in there as well

"Kool - It doesn't make sense to not give Shaq MVP just because it is easier for him to dominate. That fact is that he dominates."

well it kinda does...because if your gonna give it out on that fact alone than shaq should win the MVP every year...it was the same thing with jordan

I wasnt saying that Nash deserves it more than Shaq or trying to diminish Shaq's outstanding play. Im just saying I would like to see Nash win because he has done just as much to elevate his team and he is the classic underdog story (im a sucker for those). I've no problem if Shaq wins though he has been incredible for Miami (shame he was never in that kind of shape in LA) but if i was voting with my heart then i'd go with Nash.

Except did you watch the game?

They didn't double team D. Wade. He was able to dibble and penetrate the entire game before Chicago sent help and that only meant and one finishes and easy dumps. He did have a solid amount of assists that game.

Solid arguement. I can't talk shit because my team isn't the current champion, so what happens in two months when Detroit isn't the champion anymore either? I know what happens, you still hang Detroit's win over my head. The Lakers had their day in the sun, and it was a long and enjoyable time. Detroit looks like their days are numbered just like the Lakers days were numbered.

Of course Miami is neck and neck with Phoenix....look at the majority of the teams in the east. A team like Denver would be a serious threat in the east. Detroit is 2nd in the East, and first in their divison right? Who's 2nd? Chicago. There are more sub .500 teams in the east than the west. Bleh, but that arguement is mute because Miami, with Shaq, still is the best team in the league. (IMO)

There is only 1 more sub-500 team in the east than west but I know what you mean. East's middle seeded teams are newbies (i.e. Bulls/Wizards) while in the West it is Dallas and the Rockets.

Alright, let me rephrase. Look at the 8 teams in the playoffs for both divisions.

West

1. Phoenix 57-17
2. San Antonio 55-19
3. Seattle 50-24
4. Dallas 50-24
5. Sacramento 46-30
6. Houston 44-31
7. Denver 43-31
8. Memphis 42-32

Total wins vs. Losses 387-208

East

1. Miami 56-19
2. Detroit 47-27
3. Chicago 42-32
4. Washington 41-33
5. Boston 41-34
6. Indiana 40-34
7. Cleveland 38-36
8. Philadelphia 37-37

Total wins vs. losses 342-252

Less wins more losses. But wish Miami in the East, it very much could shape up like last year.

ok....i can play that game too and just flip the coin...what happens when detriot wins another championship and i am still able to talk shit and all you can do is mention the past....we;ve be done this road before and you would think you would learn but i guess not....you act as if miami and detriot only play eastern teams...they still play western teams and beat them, just like they will in the playoffs but since you already said that arguement is mute i have no idea why you brought it up, and believe....detroit's days are anything but numbered, thats just more propaganda on your part

Mavs - 104 Spurs - 68 🤨

I guess that shows how much the Spurs need Duncan.

The Shaqless Heat got spanked by Memphis. Phoenix lost to Golden State. What an odd day. I was really disappointed that Cavs lost again and is now tied for 7th in the East. James honestly has been doing everything for the Cavs. He played 48 minutes today. I read some article that said in the last ten games (prior to this one), James played all but 8 minutes and 2 of the games have been overtime games. Rumors are starting to fly about how if he doesn't make the playoffs, he may demand a trade. Please God don't let it be to NY or LA or some shit like that.

Here is a cool ESPN2 article about the MVP race.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/050408

Lebron just reached 40 pts, 10 rebs, and 10 asts. He has 2 steals and and a block to go with it. It also about time that he doesn't play the entire game He actually got under 40 minutes. He had help from 2 people and NOBODY else. McInnis had 22 pts while Gooden collected 24, 15, and 8. However, this is followed by Snow and Varejo having 4 each, and 2 from both Traylor and Newble. Everybody else was scoreless. That team would be nothing without James. At least they won this game pretty easily. Their playoff hopes are still slipping.

Never mind on that under 40 mins thing. The page I was looking at wasn't propperly updating the minutes played. He still played 47 minutes which is all but the last minute.

Todays game against Detroit can't help your argument against Shaq as MVP. Without Shaq, the Heat lost its home game streak (best in 3 years I believe), and Wade scored 5 points off 1 for 6 shooting and fouled himself out in 21 minutes.

Also, there was discussion about Wade's 3-point shooting earlier. For the record, Wade is only 11 for 38 on the season.

All I can say is...I can't wait for the playoffs!

Same here. I'm mad that Cavs may have to face Miami in the first round. I guess that is better than not making it at all.

Hey, who knows they may get lucky...the good thing about the playoffs is that everyone starts out the same, the regular season doesn't mean anything.

Thats true, but the Cavs really need some divine intervention to get back on track. I cant get over how well the Nuggets are playing, their record since Karl took over is astonishing.
