^Great article by the Sports Guy. One thing he forgot to mention about the whole flopping phenomena is that with these rules the NBA has now, it's impossible to play tough defense so flopping or charges are about the only option left for defensive players who don't have shot blocking ability.
Unless Phoenix wins, I'm pretty much done with the NBA for the rest of this year. I can't watch a league that rewards dirty play.
Im not much of a Simmons fan but that was a great article, i find myself mostly watching my old tapes from the 80's and 90's (and the 3-peat) if i want to see hoops as its supposed to be played.
Stern may have done alot for the league in days gone by, but now he is just a old prick with no idea what the "real" fans of the game want to see. He needs to go and hopefully someone can be brought in who realises that basketball at its best is supposed to be competitive and have an edge to it.
Hell no this shit is a disgrace. Hughes and James combined for 8/31. They were shooting like crap. I'll give James some credit he tried to move the ball when he was getting triple teamed but his teamates weren't sinking anything either. New Jersy made 5 points in the 4th qaurter and still won.
James needs to take over in these games. These are the games that count, no one cares if he gets triple teamed before he even gets to the 3-point line winners find a way to win.

Well, Cavs fans were generally booing the whole team, because they were playing like crap, but the thing they have against Hughes is that he shoots jumpshots all the time and during this particular game he missed like 13 of his 15 shots. He also gets like $16 million per year, which ticks fans off.

Its kind of a rhetorical question, but im just amazed by how stupid some fans can be. Make banners for him to be traded in the off season but while he is out there trying to help the team win they should be supporting him imo. I guess they also missed the solid defense he plays on Kidd.
Well, I totally agree KR. I feel the same way toward Raptor fans. They boo at anyone they don't like, even their own people. I've heard fans boo guys like Joey Graham and Rafael Arujo (last year). I know they were bad, but it's still pretty harsh. Heck, I've heard a few fans boo Sam Mitchell.
I don't know how it's helping Hughes. Maybe they think that by booing him, he'll suddenly become motivated to play better. Who knows?
