Putting Mihm in the game was definitely a 🤨 moment, i think even Mihm was surprised to hear his name called. He could be useful next season when he is fully healthy but throwing him to the wolves last night was weird even for Phil.
I'd like to see more of Ariza and Newble, Phil is so wrapped up in offensive execution sometimes that it hurts us defensively. Sure Newble and Ariza are out of sync with the triangle but just simplify the offense while they're in the game. The Kobe and Gasol pick and roll with Lamar flashing to the high post has been our most effective weapon anyway, just stick with that and tell Ariza or Newble to either spot up or crash the boards. Its not like Mr Triangle Walton is lighting up the Celtics anyway so go with defense, thats what its gonna come down to in Beantown.

Phil was looking for size with Mihm. It's not a hard move to understand. It didn't work because Pierce moved past every defender. Not Mihm's fault.

It is a hard move to understand when Chris has only played in 23 games this season none of those coming in the playoffs.
You want size off the bench then bring in Mbenga, who is healthy, who has played in the playoffs and who will commit hard fouls to send a message about coming down the lane.
Nobodys blaming Mihm, but he is coming off reconstructive ankle surgery and has been buried on the bench for most of the year. Even Phil admitted that it didnt work and he wont be playing him anymore this season.

Mbenga is one of those completely unathlethic dudes that you hate to play with in the pick up game because he is the dude he will go under you during a rebound or trip over his own feet and buckle over onto you.

I swear it is dudes like him that get Yao hurt every time.

At this point in time he is still a better option off the bench than Mihm.

Where is this analysis coming from? He's pretty good from what I have seen of him.

It's over tonight, here in "the Bean".

Lakers were extremely fortunate to win that game IMO. It was like 50 seconds left, up by two, and they take a fade-away Fisher three pointer. You have to drive to the lane during that possession. Try and get a foul called. And Fisher, after the pumpfake that got the defender in the air took a couple dribbles away and then looked for the three point line so he could shoot a three. That made no sense at all. What would have been wrong with take 2 dribbles in and taking a short mid-range jumper? It still would have made it a two possesion game. It's stupid plays like that one that will cost the Lakers this series.

With all that said, GIVE THE BALL TO FISHER. 😛

58-35 at the half.

lulz were had.

If thats how we are gonna play in a game of this importance then we dont deserve to win. Stupid play after stupid play, giving up offensive boards, taking quick jumpers and playing horrible defense.
The Celtics defense is very good but we play right into their hands by taking stupid shoots and not moving the ball. Pau hesitates when he has Glen Davis on him? Is Lamar even playing? Just a disappointing performance and proof that you can act confident before the game but its another thing to back it up. If we are going down in the 2nd half i at least want to see our guys leave it all on the floor, some of these guys will never get to the finals again.

hmm..

It's pretty hard to lose by 39 anyway, isn't it? haermm

That was a disgusting performance, no excuse for that level of effort or execution with the championship at stake. Right across the board we were outplayed and most importantly outhustled, guys need to take a long look at themselves after letting getting embarrassed like that in the biggest game of the season.

We have a lot to look forward to though next season with Bynum coming back, to me thats like getting a top 3 draft pick. But we have to make some changes in our identity as a team on the defensive end. Our offense is good enough to beat most teams but you cant win a title that way. The Jordan/Pippen Bulls executed the triangle at the highest level but they could rely on their defense if their shots weren't falling, that should be our blueprint for next season.

Its been a great ride when all said and done and we far exceeded my expectations at the start of the season. Good to have a few more Laker fans in the thread this year and i look forward dropping by in the offseason and getting into some heated debates (yes im talking to you Evo).

Congrats to the Boston Celtics for winning the championship.

And also a big thank you. They keep my next door neighbors were extremely quiet this evening.

Yay! Pierce got the MVP!

I hope this puts an end to Kobe/Jordan comparisons that are on TV all the time.

It wont ever end because they're valid.

Not anymore there not. Except for the last game, that was a pretty good NBA Finals. More entertaining than last years thats for sure. It was nice to see Pierce get the Finals MVP, dude definetly deserved it. It's going to be interesting to see how all the offseason signings, and trades go. Espicially if your Pistons fan because apparently the whole team is on the block except for Stuckey
