I'm glad the Rockets got Artest. If anyone can keep him at least moderately under control, it's Adelman. If he plays like everyone knows he can, then he will be very effective and being a third scorer and be able to pick up the slack in case Yao or McGrady get injured (which is almost guaranteed). Plus, he is a great defender. It's going to be scary facing both him and Battier at the same time.
On the flip side, he's Ron Artest, so there's always that risk of him doing something really stupid. Plus, there's also the chance that they will lose Carl Landry because of the money they are spending on Artest, which hurts.
All in all, I think it was a good trade that has the ability to pay off now and get the Rockets deep in the playoffs. They needed to do something big, because they weren't getting any farther with the same team.

I think even Kobe would admit that Jordan would beat Kobe 1 on 1 if both were in their primes.
Well, Miles is an interesting case. He hadn't played in 2 years due to microfracture knee surgery and was struggling to show progress. After a certain amount of time, you can request a league and players' union appointed doctor to examine an injured player to determine if there is a reasonable chance that the player will be able to ever play again. The doctor came to the conclusion after inspecting the knee that the damage was bad enough that Miles would likely never be able to play again. At which point, the Blazers could release Miles and have insurance pay for part of his salary while none of his salary counts against the salary cap. The only way the salary can start counting against the cap again is if the player plays 10 games in the next 2 seasons (I'm not sure if it is 10 games in either 1 of the 2 seasons or a combined 10 games over the course of 2 seasons, but that part won't likely matter). So if Miles plays 10 games, the money starts counting against the Blazers salary cap again. No player has ever come back after such an appointment where they were determined to have had a career ending injury, so Miles would be the first if he does so. The contract he signed with Boston is non-guaranteed though and the Celtics said he has a couple of months to prove his worth, meaning they will likely evaluate him through practices and pre-season and should have a decision by the time the season starts.
Jesus what a game the gold medal match was. Kobe Bryant and D-Wade had great games. Rudy Fernandez is a great player too.
It's great watching USA blow out teams and everything, but that was one the most exciting games I've seen in a while. I kinda wish more of the USA games were like that, but then again I don't.
Also, as a person that ALWAYS roots for the underdog, it felt a little weird rooting for the heavy favorite. 😆
