That sounds like a bitter pill to swallow Myth, sometimes the NBA refs seem to be watching a different game with some of the calls that go on. Its good to see Oden come back strong, his injury in the first game brought a lot of the naysayers out of the woodwork piling on while he was down. I hope he gets a chance to make them eat their words (just not when he plays the Lakers).
Glad we got back on track last night but it wasnt the type of performance that i was hoping for after losing our first game. We were still sloppy with the ball and seem to have forgotten how to run the triangle after the first couple of options. The defense was good though after the 1st quarter, Bynum just adds another dimension as the anchor.
Wow, that kid Rose can play! He's like a cross between Paul and Wade, he gets to the hoop so easily and he has a decent outside shot on him to (which is surprising for a rookie). Very rare to see a rookie look so poised especially running the point, im looking forward to seeing him play more.
As for the Rockets injuries, it just doesnt seem to end for them. We'll never know how good they can be because they can't stay healthy enough to get used to playing together. I feel your pain Celest.
I still question the Paul and Williams comparisons. I just don't see either of them in him. He's more like a bigger Tony Parker. He's a scorer, he will always be a scorer at the point. It's how he was in High School, it's how he was in College, and it's the player he will be in the NBA. Not that it's a bad thing. He's super quick, like Parker. Parker has a consistent jumpshot, no doubt Rose will develop one later. He has the ability to get to the basket, whenever he pleases. But he's not a distributor like Paul or Williams, their ability to see the court and whatnot, comes natural.
Anyone notice how ESPN is pimping Rose and Beasley as the top two ROY candidates, despite Mayo leading all rookies in scoring?
The Paul comparisons for me are because of his ball handling skills and the way he is always in control, Parker is just lightning quick but he doesnt dazzle you with the way he handles the ball. I added the Wade comparison because Rose is more of a combo guard like Wade and he has the quick acceleration to get to the hoop primarily to score. I guess its natural to always try and find a point of reference when talking about new players in the league, it helps people get a picture of how they play.
I havent had a chance to watch too many games outside of the Lakers but i have seen both Rose and Beasley play, both have impressed me with their all around skills and poise. That maybe why they are getting the hype, but then again its BSPN so i wouldnt put too much into it.
WOOOOOHOOOO!!!
Great win against the Hornets in their own gym even when the Kings were without Martin and Garcia. I'm really excited at the future of the Kings backcourt and their future overall. Spencer Hawes is like a more athletic version of Vlade Divac. He shows me something different every night and Jason Thompson is going to be the steal of the draft. He could easily be a 20 and 10 guy in a couple of years.

Well, today made me feel better. 42 point win over the Bulls. Could have been 50, but they put our non-rotation players and they were trying there hardest just to go for highlight dunks, which failed. Oden watch continued with him getting 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 17 minutes. Much better than that other #1 pick (6 points, 1 for 8 shooting, 1 assist in 30 minutes).

Raptors never had a good rebounder on their team.
exactly... jermaine oneal is making his presence known! its freeing up bosh more to play his game, and his defence has been pretty good too. just need to work on the chemistry and i think we'll be a pretty good team come playoff time.

I cannot wait to see the Suns game. I have been waiting for this match-up for so long. Bynum and Gasol vs Shaq and Amare. I'm hoping for a good close game, but I just don't see that happening. Here is to Bynum dunking on Shaq and embarrassing him like he did the last time he played him.
I'm not worried at all..
The Lakers come to play, there is nothing the Suns or anyone can do
I've been looking forward to playing the Suns since the season started, they matchup pretty well with our starters but we have a lot more talent and impact off the bench. I've only seen the Suns play once this season and they looked a mess on offense, but obviously they are playing better now as they have chalked up some impressive wins.
We need to run the Kobe, Bynum pick and roll to death tonight, Shaq is known for being a terrible defender on this play and it'll either allow Kobe to attack the hoop all night or result in dunks for Drew. If Amare is the help man then Gasol will have a field day, if they pack the paint then Fish and Vlad have wide open jumpers (which is the only shots they should be taken to be honest). As long as we move the ball and use our bigs we'll be alright on offense, defensively we must control the boards and keep the Suns to one and done. The Suns run pick and rolls all night but we must resist the urge to collapse and make Nash a scorer, if he goes for 40+ then so be it - its the kickout 3's and the lobs that hurt you more. Nash wants to distribute but making him a scorer takes everyone else out of rhythm. If the ball goes into Shaq let Bynum play him one on one, Shaq is great at finding cutters if he is doubled (years of playing in the triangle) so we must make him beat us with a move preferably from 5ft and out. It also wouldnt hurt for Bynum to get out and run once the rebound has been secured, 5-8 mins to sprinting down the court should tie Shaq out considerably.
Hope its a great game, GO LAKERS!!!!
We're starting another fantasy bball league if anyone is interested in joining. Draft is this Saturday.
