The fact that he was recovering from a severe injury might have something to do with his stats, but there is no doubt that he can play. The differences in situations between his role with the Bobcats and now with the Lakers couldnt be more glaring. For the Bobcats he was always the #3 pick who failed to live up to those expectations, now he is just a guy that needs to hit the ton of open shots he will get from a) running the triangle and b) from playing with Kobe, Pau and Bynum. Thats a hell of a lot less pressure when you are trying to get healthy again. The dude may never be a star player in the league but the Lakers dont need him to be, he just needs to hit the open shots (he was never wide open in Charlotte). He can play no doubt, as different as the NBA is to the College game you dont lead the country in scoring and then forget how to put the ball in the hoop.

He just needs a chance

Lakers tomorrow

Didn't you guys already have a shooter in Rad?

Sure did, but he makes more than Morrison and has a much longer contract. I thought Vlad did a good job (especially this season), but nearly every team is trying to cut the payroll these days even the Lakers.

Like Rad also. He was hitting 3s and his defense improved

I guess. I still think Morrison ain't going to do anything. He had three years, and even though he was injured, that's also the point.

Its a low risk for the Lakers, if he bottoms out then we dont renew his contract. But if he does show some glimpses of being a scoring threat then we'll keep him around for cheap. You cant compare his situation in Charlotte to the one with the Lakers, he's being asked to do 2 different jobs.

It comes down to whether Phil plays the guy. Each year, the Lakers get players and simply don't play em

Sasha is having a hard time making 3's, Luke is a terrific passer but a consistent jumper isn't his game and he doesn't use his height to his advantage

Lakers tonite. Establish the inside, don't leave shooters and please the bench wake up and have a strong game
