The fact that he was recovering from a severe injury might have something to do with his stats, but there is no doubt that he can play. The differences in situations between his role with the Bobcats and now with the Lakers couldnt be more glaring. For the Bobcats he was always the #3 pick who failed to live up to those expectations, now he is just a guy that needs to hit the ton of open shots he will get from a) running the triangle and b) from playing with Kobe, Pau and Bynum. Thats a hell of a lot less pressure when you are trying to get healthy again. The dude may never be a star player in the league but the Lakers dont need him to be, he just needs to hit the open shots (he was never wide open in Charlotte). He can play no doubt, as different as the NBA is to the College game you dont lead the country in scoring and then forget how to put the ball in the hoop.
