doesnt matter how good a player is, when they make racist remarks they should be suspended and fined. whther its wells, jordan or even a lesser known player, i would have lost any respect for that player.

what is the wells situation? what players are being moved?

i was watching some old tapes the other day, joe d was an awesome player. very good basketball mind, sweet shot and cunning defender

Totally agree man. He wasnt really athletic at all but he was one of the smartest players of his era. "Cunning defender" - spot on.

Dude, I'm still wondering how we lost to Detroit. I'm still recovering.lol
I haven't been following the Lakers as much as I used but I guess I'll start again since they got Phil, I'm very exited about that. Lakers story just keeps getting better and better.

😆 We got royally worked over by Detroit. Proof that having a hall of fame line up doesn't mean jack when they cant play together.
I'm pretty optimistic about the upcoming season (it cant be as bad as last year anyway), Phil will get them playing in a structured system instead of the pick up style they had last year. If we do make the playoffs, i don't expect them to go far but they have some nice pieces that could work in the long run. Kwame Brown will either turn into the player he should be or have us begging to have Butler back. Bynum is gonna take a few years to be a force but he has the tools. We still don't have a PG but its early days in the free agent market.
I've supported the Lakers since the early 80's so even though we have enjoyed alot of success, we have also had some rough periods (the 90's were painful). I gonna be patient and trust the management know what they are doing in building a team for the future.

Man i used to love watching Joe D play he was awesome.

yea he was, i met him once..really cool guy too

Dude, if we would've had Malone at 100% health I still strongly believe we would've won.

I don't. 😐

I'd like to believe that, but Malone would have only matched Rasheed and given us a few more rebounds. Kobe was locked up by Prince and Gary Payton played like Gary Coleman. Snaq (yes that's what i'm calling him now) was good but for the most part we came up against a better and more hungry team IMO.

*sigh* i guess. oh yah and how and/or why are you into all this American stuff when you live in New Zealand? you like Lakers and "underground" ( i don't like to call it that anymore ) hip hop. im just curious

Because New Zealand doesn't have NBA?

I grew up in England and thats when i got into basketball in the early 80's. The great days when the Lakers starting 5 was Magic, Scott, Worthy, Green and Kareem. I've loved it ever since, played alot at school and college.
Hip hop is another long standing love affair with me from the days of Public Enemy, BDP and Ice T till now. Just so happens the best of both basketball and hip hop come from the states.
I moved from the UK to New Zealand to bring my kids up with my New Zealander wife, its alot safer and has alot more open space.
I rely on BSPN (not a typo) for my NBA action and the intenet for my "underground" hip hop, you dont know how lucky you Americans are to have both so easily available. Anyway back on topic......

BSPN! 😆

Sorry, just sounds funny. 😐

Dont apologise dude its supposed to be funny. I wish i could get another US sports channel over here but i'm stuck with Screamin' A Smith and the rest of the drama queens on BSPN.

yah, he is pretty loud.

I dont see whats so bad about ESPN.

They are too interested in controversy instead of just sticking to sports news IMO. That and Sceamin' A Smith, seriously does he have to shout when the person he is talking to is right next to him?

Yeah true. But I still always watch Sportcenter. How else would i find out what happened in some games? And its much better then just reading the score on the computer.

Thats what i mean, i dont get much coverage over here so watching the highlights is all i get sometimes. But i dont like the way they focus more on the scandal and controversy than the games. If Screamin A Smith would STFU then it would leave more time for highlights. 😄

ESPN is horrendous. It used to be awesome but now they've morphed into the MTV of sports. They only care about catering to the mainstream audience with their idiotic shouting shows and stupid non-sport programs all the while screwing the hardcore sports fan.

I pretty much just watch their live broadcasts and Baseball Tonight. The rest of their programs I avoid like the plague.
