about the heat, isnt james posey known as a defense guy? thats what i'd heard about him when the trade happened. maybe hes just not doing it well now. chris paul is gonna be an amzing player, hes pretty damn good now.

chris bosh is an al star, carter and 4 pistons are all star reserves

One thing's for sure: Detroit will make the Finals.

The Heat aren't impressive. While they do have a good record, they haven't beaten anyone who is actually good.

This falls on Riley. He mixed up most of the team when it wasn't needed, and they'll pay for it when they get destroyed in the playoffs.

I still can't understand why Riley, a defensive minded coach, would mesh with a great offensive team and a pretty good defensive team with adding more star offensive players. Now, they're a great offensive team and a bad defensive team. How much more offense do you really need when you already have Wade and Shaq?

EDIT: People need to stop sleeping on Dallas. They have an excellent shot at beating the Spurs. Spurs are very beatable especially with Duncan's injury not getting better.

yea, you hit the nail on the head with that one, riley was a great coach, but he's lost his touch, he lost his touch before they brought in van gundy, he should fire his own ass again and re-hire van gundy

wats everyone think of the reseves? who deserves, who doesnt?

bosh obviously deserves, no biased there of course😄

four pistons are in, billups, rip, ben and sheed. is four representatives from one team too much? i mean, michael redd is nowhere to be seen, and hes been having a good year. vince got in, and probably rightly so, but no kidd... aint a proper allstar game without him!
good to see brand is included, hes deservingt a lot of repsect for being consistantly good, and marion is gonna provide some nice highlight material.

all those pistons deserve to be there, but where;s darko??

lol @ Darko, im not sure he could even make the rookie team THIS year.
I still think Riley is a good coach but he is known as a very demanding coach and outside of Wade and an aging Payton he doesnt really have any hard workers on his team.
When he coached the Lakers he was lucky enough to have Magic, Kareem, Worthy etc who were players that wanted to win badly and would do whatever it takes.
Now he had Shaq (who is a known slacker), Walker (nuff said) and J-Will (who is injured most games and mentally unstable). But Riley brought in those guys and i think now he is finding out the hard way that it was a mistake.

ou know, i want the heat to do well for one reason. wat is it? alonzo. i used to love the battles he and ewing used to have, it was more like all out war. the guys still playing, and even though he dissed toronto, i've still got a lot of respect for the guy... though i'll be pissed off if he wins a ring with ewing not getting one. ewing, is a legend.

arenas has been brought in to replace jermaine o'neal, no surprise really

the surprise is lebron james going in the skills challenge on all star weekend rather than the dunk contest, i found that out..and while i was watching americas most wanted, i saw a video of carmello anthony with some fugitives, not doing anything bad, just swearing. i guess they are his old friends or something, and do not ask me if this is a joke, because its not.

u can add to that, and this question: who do u think is the most underrated player or players in the nba right now, and which player or players do u think are overrated? in terms of underrated i say chris bosh, and vince carter. in terms of players who are overrated i say kobe bryant and ...mike james..who?? mike james...who?? lol , u know mike james, mike jones, news annalysts on the score do that all the time when they're talking about or interviewing mike james.

I wouldn't say either Bosh or Carter are underrated. Bosh made the all-star team and just barely, which is where he deserves to be. He obviously has a ton of talent but until he leads the Raptors to something greater, he is acknowledged enough (at least by analysts and coaches). I also think Carter is given his dues. You may not think so because to many people on here, it appears you overrate him which would make him underrated from your perspective.
As for me:
Overrated:
Damon Jones
Drew Gooden
Peja
Baron Davis
Darius Miles (thats right, one of my very own Blazers)
Antoine Walker (its a rare case where fans acknowledge that he is a black hole yet teams seem to keep wanting him and overpaying for him)
Chris Webber (maybe not so much anymore, but back in his Sacto days, he was always praised for being better than Rasheed which I disagreed. It was until Sheed landed on the Pistons when this flip-flopped)
Pavlovic (NBA analysts are starting to praise him which is driving me nuts. THE MAN FRICKEN SUCKS!)
Manu
Steve Francis
Marbury (at least in his mind)
Steve Nash

Underrated:
Anybody on the Suns not named Steve Nash
Shane Battier (FG% anybody?)
Cliff Robinson (the mans defense is still top notch)

overrated?

pretty much who myth mentioned, plus
eddy curry

underrated?
tayshaun,(no allstar vote..)
harrington of the hawks
d west of the hornets
chris kamen
jason richardson
jud beuchler😄

i didnt know mashburn was still in teh nba, hes on phillys roster. does he get any burn at all? he used to be pretty damn good.

steve nash overrated?? u cant question an MVP, even if he is canadian.

i dont think nash is a crunch time player... i've seen a couple of games hes had the chance to win a game but always comes up short... of course, he normally doesnt let it get that close so i think hes due the attention he gets.

how is mike james overrated? is he getting a lot of attention over there?

i have seen mike james screw up so many times in the late stages of close games on the road and at home, i remember the game against new jersey where the raptors were up by 4 points with a minute left, and mike james took a 3 with a center, Clifford robinson in his face and missed, giving vince carter an open three pointer, and then calderon missing the second free throw to give vince another 3 point opportunity for the win which he made. That could have all happened differently if mike james just drove to the basket because he could have gotten past Clifford robinson easily.

yeah but lets be honest, how many games have we won through him playing well? hes kept the raps in some games and generally plays well. i know it was a tough loss to swallow but it happens.

Yeah, I think Mike James isnt overrated. I think he's good to a point. But as Darth said, the Raptors wouldnt be anywhere without him. Im sorry, but Calderon isnt that good, and if you had him leading the team as the PG, hello turnovers galore.

Mike James compliments Bosh really well.

Out of all the Raptor, the most underated player is Peterson. He is the only one on the team that actually plays defense. He has is shortcomings (some really bad games), but when he is on fire, he's very good. Also, he is the heart and soul of the Raptors.

Overated for the Raptors: none really, but I'll say Jalen Rose when he did play.

i think calderon, give him some years and experience will become a fairly good player, most europeans do need that year or two of transition. ah, mo pete... he is the leader of this team. hes been there since he was drafted, and he does everything he can to help them win. even on an off day he can produce just enoughto inspire the others to take over. i do hope charlie villanueva keeps playing well and improves, he does have some nice potential. if he can play nice consistant basketball, it'll be a good start.

I'm watchin the Heat Pistons game right now and Wade is a friggen monster. I sweat he's scored the last 12 points for the Heat. Theres 1 minute left and a tie game. GO HEAT!

WADE!!!!!!!! Just hit the go ahead bucket with 2.3 seconds left!!!

EDIT:
The heat were down by 13 when the quarter started. Wade has scored the last 17 points for them.

Prince missed the 3 and the Heat win!!!!!!

Yeah.
Calderon, maybe. But in a few years? I dont think the Raptors are willing to wait that long. Also, they have 2 PG's in the Europe leagues right now, plus James and a draft this year. Calderon might see the short end of the stick, because as of right now, he isnt that good. Too many turnovers, and no defense.

You can question an MVP if you don't believe they deserved it in the first place. I think they over credit him and under credit the rest of the team.

So whats with Detroit suddenly losing 4 out of their last 8? Looks like that 70 win season is not happening. That is unless they only lose 3 games the rest of the season (not likely).
