OK Marchello,Being in Catholic schools doesn't make you Catholic or "familiar" with Catholic doctrine. In fact many actual Catholics are not "familiar" with Catholic doctrine.
Perhaps it is a waste of time replying to you, but I got to make some clarifications for the readers, not for you
-The inquisition (all of them: catholic, Spanish, protestant) are a very interesting topic to address in the near future, but your number sare certainly extracted from Chick's traits, nothing to do with historical facts. Just black legend, especially if you consider what the number of inhabitants were in Europe by the time, impossible to be "Millions".
-It is a fact that many protestant groups argue that they are the only true church, the rest can go to hell or will you deny this?
About:
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
2 Thimothy 3, 16The Catholic Church couldn't agree more that Scripture is inspired, and useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, for training, to be competent and to be equipped for every good work.
Regretfully for you it doesn't say that the scrpture is the ONLY thing inspired by God, it doesn't say that it is the ONLY thing that can be used for teaching, refutation, correction, for training, etc...
It only says that "Scripture is inspired by God, and is useful......"
If you see something else, then you are not following the "ONLY SCRIPTURE", in fact you will be doing the opposite, applying a "tradition" to add to the text, that must be used by your community,
Anyway, by the time Paul wrote that, there were no New Testament yet, so He was referring to the Greek version of the Jewish scriptures (the one he and the apostles used) which included the Deuterocanonical books, which many protestant reject due to their closeness to "Catholic doctrines".
I will address your claims about Catholic doctrines in a separated topic
God bless you,
***Having had a Catholic school education DOES indeed make me MORE than conversant with Catholic doctrine. In fact, I am an EXPERT at it...as you will soon find out. It is your IGNORANCE of Christianity that makes you a captive of the Roman Catholic cult [i.e., it IS a cult of EPIC proportions and the OLDEST.]
As for the number of martyrs that were murdered by your church...it was, INDEED, in the MILLIONS...and these MILLIONS died over a period of hundreds of years...and the Office of the Inquisition was NEVER abolished and STILL exists to this VERY DAY!...today it is called the CONGREGATION OF THE HOLY OFFICE [In 1966 pope Paul VI changed the name to The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; also known as the Doctrinal Congregation].
Jack Chick's tracts are true...it is only your unwillingness and inability to see [or WANT to SEE] the truth that clouds your unregenerate mind. Here are some of the NUMBERS of the INNOCENTS that died under the sword of the Roman Catholic church:
(1)10,000 Huguenots were murdered on the streets of Paris, France...on St. Bartholomew's day, August 24, 1572
(2)Throughout France...50,000 more were killed [Source: The Standard International Encyclopedia].
(3)HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS more fled from France with nothing but the shirts on their backs to other countries as their property and fortunes were seized by "Holy Mother Church."
This is only a small list of those who suffered under the TYRANNY of the Roman Catholic church within only weeks of each other...the are FACTS OF HISTORY and NOT "black legend" made up by Jack Chick who you LIE about because of your WICKED & UNREGENERATE heart. The above examples happened only over a few weeks...and the INQUISITION lasted for CENTURIES. MULTIPLY the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of MURDERS by the Roman church over the centuries and it shows the FACTS of HISTORY...the Roman Catholic church killed MILLIONS...MILLIONS!!! [NOTE: When the news of the massacre reached Rome...church bells were rung and there was wild rejoicing in the streets. Pope Gregory XIII was so happy to be rid of the people that he had murdered that he ordered a "Te Deum" sung in the churches of Rome...and had a medal struck with his profile on one side and the destroying angel on the other. He also sent cardinal Ursini to convey his felicitations to the queen mother of France, Catherine de Medici, who at the proptings of the Jesuits had organized the plot.].
