"Well, I shall inform you as soon as they return," says Teshan. "But I am very much afraid I have no idea why Kuylen or his followers would bring violence to this place... do any of you know why Kuylen is on Malastare?"

Here is the rub, guys, because without a bit of deduction and lead following it could be difficult to follow up this half of things. The 'Guide to the Light Side Investigation' thread I opened up on the top of the page was intended to help you by giving you the complete profile of Kuylen- criminal profiling is handy for this sort of thing. Perhaps you would care to contribute to it again? It's not vital, but handy.

So anyway, you need to throw some ideas around about what sort of thing Kuylen wants- what would tempt him enough to take such an insane move such as coming to Malastare.

Ok, I see we are slowing down a bit here...

To be clear, I am not asking you guys to, at this point, comprehensively nail down the Dark Siders' plan. I doubt at this point you could make sense of them murder anyway- not much of a mystery if you can solve it so fast!

But to make it simple... what does Kuylen WANT? In general?

Kuylen wants more power.

revenge?

It must be said, Kuylen has shown virtually no desire for revenge on anyone, which links into another important part of his personality.

Power for sure, though. How does he intend to get such power?

I'm guessing something like finding old Sith relics that will help him in training with new powers.

That has certainly been his raison d'etre so far. Does anyone have any reason to think he has changed his mind?

Nope. But he could have (ex-)business partners on Malastare, or someone could have some...

"Teshan, where did you get all of these artifacts? Surely you might have gotten them out of the Temple aswell, but anywhere else?" asks Xeth.

Julie, you are interviewing Teshan, a civilian (i.e. non-Jedi) sabre instructor at the Temple who taught you as a young child. He has retired and opened up a swordfighting school here on Malastare; you are talking to him a. because he is helpful and b. because someone has been murdered with a sabre just outside his dojo.

Teshan can answer that question for you, BB (I hope Rex isn't giving you hints...)

Actually, none of the artifacts are from the Temple. The Jedi give him a generous pension but it would hardly have been respectful to nab their stuff. But the money to start up this place, the picture-perfect construction of it to mimic the Temple dojo, and the artifacts you see around you, all were donated by a friendly local businessman byt the name of Kir Ascar.

"Not just a businessman, you see," explains Teshan. "When he was younger he was a keen historian and very active archaeologist. He has collected a GREAT deal of stuff in his time, including the largest personal collection of Jedi artifacts I have ever seen! He was most helpful in aiding in the construction of this place, and was very generous, as you can see!"

(Nope, he's not. And yes, Lance, I haven't been around in awhile.)

"Yes, VERY generous! So generous as to build an almost exact replica of the Jedi Temple's dojo!" Xeth says with a smile.

(You said he, Teshan, has artifacts, and Kuylen could be searching for something. Plus, the fiasco with Faylar leads me to business partners)

"Yes, indeed" says Teshan. "He found it a fascinating project, to duplicate it all as much as we could! He has been very helpful."

(Now I see another connection...)

"So, you say Kir Ascar has a collection of Jedi memorabilia? Would that include Sith relics?" asks Xeth warily. "If so, that could be what Kuylen is after. Or he could be trying to kill someone...again..."

"Actually... yes, I guess that is possible. If Kuylen is after that sort of thing... it is a CONSIDERABLE collection that Ascar has. Maybe that is Kuylen's target!"

"Oh my...where is Ascar? We may need to talk to him," says Xeth.

Teshan can give you the address. Though he points out that Ascar is a VERY busy man so you had best make an appointment.

Ok, that is about all you can get from Teshan. You guys now have two leads, and I recommend you follow both. Someone needs to check out the raided depot, and someone (the more social ones...) need to go and talk to Ascar and see if he has anything Kuylen would want.

"Shall I go find this Ascar person?" Sieri asks. She turns to Teshan. "Do you have his com code so I can schedule an appointment?"

Well, he has the code for his secretary.
