Ok. In that case, Sieri and Gundark are going to speak to Ascar, whilst Lance, Mah and Xeth are off to the orbital depot.
Teshan bids you farewell. Now you have visited the crime scene, the body is being taken away and all evidence collected.
Lance and co, Moran takes you on a shuttle to the depot. On the journey there, he explains the situation.
"This is a consumer depot," he explains. "A supermarket for ships; for people that like to customise them. You just buy parts here, from small bearings all the way to full-sized power cores.
"There was an unexplained fire alarm in one section of the depot. Everyone fled, the fire doors shut, and then the shooting started. By the time security here smashed through the fire doors, the attackers had killed all the guards in the area, and blown up an entire storage depot full of parts, and gotten clean way through the nearby docking bay. We have no witnesses, and no survivors. They played merry havoc with the systems, too, and certainly took care of the cameras.
"Now, as I said before, we have no evidence of the involvment of this 'Kuylen' man. But my instincts make me suspicious; the timing of the attack, that it should happen now. That pirates would attack this place seems unusual; it would be very risky and we have no intelligence leads suggesting that. And that the security in the area- an automated system, with sophisticated hunter-killer droids- killed not ONE of the attackers... you can see my suspicions."
You are docking now.
-
Gundark and Sieri, you have taken an air taxi to Ascar's place. Or PLACE, He lives in the uptown area of the capital, which is to say he lives at the top of a very tall skyscraper that appears to house his offices. This man must be INCREDIBLY rich.
You enter at a garage at the base. You note a great many armed guards around... not Grans either, all human. They look at you suspiciously as you head to the lift, which shoots you up to the top floor. As you wait in the lucury lift you can't help feeling nervous; the atmosphere outside was not friendly.
At the top is a reception area, and a smiling young woman behind a lavish desk welcomes you.
"You are the Jedi here to see Ascar?" she asks.
"He will just be a few moments," says the receptionist, before returning to doing her nails.
Not long afterwards, a large, imposing looking man comes through a door on the opposite side of the room. he is blonde and muscular, and carries a large gun by his side. He walks slowly towards you two and looks you over with an unfriendly eye.
"You will leave your weapons with me," he says.
"I see..." says Xeth. "Was anything stolen, Moran? Anything that was in the area the attackers were said to have been? And maybe you could show me a hunter-killer droid that has been damaged or destroyed...or a body."
Xeth looks around. This certainly is a big place, and there are certainly a lot of parts... he thinks to himself as he surveys the area.
The big man merely repeats himself, Julie.
"You will leave your weapons with me."
-
"We don't think anything was stolen," says Moran. "Just destroyed. As for bodies and destroyed droids- that's another thing, there aren't any. That's another suspicious thing; all the bodies and droids were removed by the assailants."
You are currently in the docking bay, Xeth, which is large but shows no signs of a fight. Oddly, there is a power core laying nearby.
The other parts that were attacked are the section control room, the main area and the storage room.
"Not at all," says Moran, "you can go where you like!"
There is a certain amount of commotion behind as the small crew of the police shuttle that flew you here seem to be unhappy.
It appears the security sensors at this place have found a tracking device on the side of the shuttle. It sure as hell wasn't here when you first got on board in Malastare orbit just after you got here.
"Dump the weapons or you go NO further!" says the man, firmly.
"I think, Persis," comes another voice from the doorway, "that we can make an exception to the normal rules in the case of the Jedi."
Standing there is an elderly but rather distinguished and rather intense looking gentleman, well-dressed with grey hair.
(He looks exactly like Malcolm MacDowell, for those that have seen him. Not the younger one in Clockwork Orange, the older one in films like Star Trek VII (Generations) and so on)
"My name is Kir Ascar," he says. "Now, why don't you come inside?"
