Seems Vil uses very specialised, small bombs. They are so small that they bypass security sensors, which is how she gets them in. BUT they have no room for a decent trigger machanism (which would be detected by the sensors anyway).

The crowd is almost silent as the race nears its end. Both Mogarians tear through the field to the front, Galder smashing through Speedy's small pod on the way. He gets through but his own pod is now noticably damged; at the last corner of the twists the other Mogarian is ahead... but the race could go to any of the top four!

Fire, on your way to apporach Vil you hear a high pitched beep and get a sudden feeling of personal danger...

Kellan realized her pulse was racing as fast as those damned pods. Feelings of danger pressed in on her from all around. Hang on, mah....

Marcus, there is an explosion in front of you as the trip bomb (that you heard beeping) goes off. Luckily you did not walk into it but the explosion cuts you, winds you, sends you flying back and your lightsabre bounces away somewhere. Xeth, you see this happen, Gundy and Sieri both hear it as you are climbing up.

Vil spins and draws two blasters. He sees you, Xeth, and opens fire.

Crap!!! I should have seen this coming

(if possible I try force pull to get my sabre back, else I run for cover)

Kellan sensed impending danger ahead; the small explosion she heard made her quicken her steps.

Ok, Xeth is busy defending himself. marcus, you can pick youself up.

Gundy and Sieri, you have climbed into the superstructure. You can see the assassin, Vil, shooting with two blasters at Xeth who is defending himself furiously, whilst a dazed Marcus picks himself up.

Should I wait....or try to disarm the madman???
