1. i still dont think tia and beckett are in league, but i could be totally wrong. i was just implying that Beckett has back knowledge. Beckett knows a lot more about Jack and our other characters than makes sense. ya know what i mean? it makes me think he will try to pit will and jack against each other on purpose, because he sees the love triangle more clearly than any of them do. does Liz fall back into Beckett's hands>?
2. that all makes a lot of sense about throwing in the kid scene and then making 4 a "fill in the 10 year gap" thing. i always wondered what the heck they were talking about with "reinvention"... but if they are planning on having a significant time jump towards the end of 3, that would make perfect sense... to show where each character is, and then go back in subsequent films and fill in those holes. lol. i would really enjoy that actually.
and that would also clear up how they plan on solving the love triangle in an absolute way, while still making room for more films.
either way, i think orlando would be a part of more films, even if its just a cameo here or there. he does bring in the teenage girl audience.
apparantly the dude who plays barbossa just had an interview in which he says there are 12 (yes, count em, TWELVE) plot lines that come together in one epic battle sequence that puts Ben Hur to shame. EXCITING!!!!!
so let's see... what could the 12 be?

2. jack and barbossa's battle for the pearl
3. beckett and the eitc trying to stamp out piracy
4. pirate brethran trying to fight eitc
5. pintel and ragetti trying to get rich

Kate how can beckett know what will happen if he seperates Jack/Liz he has no powers to see into the future yet he seems to know that she will fall for Jack...so does Tia.
Yeah...I'm beginning to believe you LovelyOne...cuz something in that interview I saw of Naomi Harris...something she said made me think that she and Beckett may be in cohoots...that she knows whats going on with everyone and that she can see into people's hearts...that Pirates come to her when they are in trouble...maybe Beckett knew this and disguised himself as a Pirate or something and went to her and got info..or maybe there's a mole....maybe Barbossa...don't know thinking randomnly....
There is a very easy explanation to why Beckett taunts Liz about Jack that doesn't involve Tia. Beckett's just interrupted their wedding day and here is the bride with a gun to his head saying she didn't get to have sex. What's an arrogant short man to do? Typical Beckett, he spins it around and makes it seem like he did her a favor. Also, he'll say anything to distract her from shooting him so he starts implying there was more to Liz and Jack's relationship at the time than there was. Then listening to her response "these aren't for Jack," made him see how riled up he got her, indicating that there definitely could be feelings.
Say what you want about Beckett, he's very observant and very good at reading people, knowing their motives. He's trying to mess with Liz's mind so her attention will be anywhere other than planting a nice bullet between his eyes.
I could be wrong, but there is no scene that shows Beckett and Tia together, nor do they even seem to acknowledge the other exists. I can't assume they've met and are in league.
Yeah I agree lovethemtigers..something is really fishy about Beckett and Tia in this movie...they seem to be the only 2 who kow about Will, Liz and Jack's futures.
willofthewisp..explain to me how Beckett knows so much about Jacks magical compass? Tia made that and even people closest to Jack have no idea what it really does. Gibbs may be the only one who knows.
again all the closure is in movie 2 when it comes to the love triangle according to ted..and by the end of It Jack is who Liz gives up a "happy ending" with will for in order to find him again

Hmm, why would Beckett know about Jack's compass without talking to Tia?
Well, he and Jack used to work together and we don't know exactly when Jack got the compass, so he might have had it then. I don't know. Jack screws up a lot and could have let it slip that he had a magic compass. Beckett has to know a lot about Jack because of their experiences together.
Or...and this is a little more far-fetched, but so is Tia and Beckett in league together. What if the compass is a Jack Sparrow legend? There are a lot of stories circling around about him and not everyone tells the same stories. Like the whole thing about Jack getting off the island. I bet there are a dozen different stories going around Tortuga alone about how he did it. But Beckett might have counted on this legend being true, especially when Norrington said the compass didn't point north.
I'm just saying there is more to one explanation.
i'm more inclined to think Beckett heard of Jack's compass because he spies on Jack, and hears the legends. Beckett obviously knows (in depth) the legend of Davy Jones and has his entire evil plot to take over the world wrapped up in his ability to steal a magic compass, find a chest with a live heart in it, and get Davy Jones in a position to be blackmailed.
AKA: Beckett is more willing to accept the illogical and supernatural than even Will or Elizabeth. Which makes me think, he has had dealings with someone of a supernatural nature at some point, OR he has been roped into Jack's misadventures before too.
When he is talking to Will about the compass and describing it, it sounds as though Beckett has seen it and remembers it as something Jack had when Beckett knew him.
But perhaps Jack and Beckett have crossed paths and swords since their original falling out 13 years ago.
I do think Beckett has in some way been in on some mysterious stuff. Still dont really think he and tia are in evil cohoots together or anything. I think he just has tons of spies everywhere, that sort of thing. like when his henchman shows up in tortuga to get information about Elizabeth.
Or perhaps Beckett and Jones have met before.
oh, and one other thought i forgot to add above.
perhaps that was the meaning of the jar of paprika. Beckett and his crew stopped off on the pelgostas island, traded with them... and thats where the paprika and the wig and all that stuff came from. Then, since Tia is apparantly on the same island as the pelogostas, he met up with Tia.
just an idea. it seems to be supported by the hints of the story.

and you know what i always found weired about the scene in Tia's shack/hut?...
i always thought it was weird when Tia asked Jack "The Compass you BORROWED from me, it can't take you there?" she didnt say the compass i GAVE you....which made me think that maybe Jack and Tia may have an arrangement too...i think shortly after the "Wench" sank and Davy rose it from depths of the sea and renamed it the BLACK PEARL....Jack met Tia and she let him borrow the compass for a certain amount of years...maybe say oh 13 years!! i think she probably knew that when the 13 year debt with Davy was up that Jack would want to go serching for the Chest of Davy's Heart to get out of it....i mean she knew about the black spot on Jacks hand!!!
