Best Movie of the Year IMO.

What a good movie... 'Planet Terror' had the killing, blood and grotesqueness, when 'Death Proof' had the Thriller and suspense. I was disappointed slightly at the end of 'Planet Terror'.

Overall, 4.5 Stars out of 5.

Zodiac is quite a bit better.

... Anyone else notice how they tied in each movie to each other?

It's pretty hard not to.

A few people I've spoke to, didn't know 😂

Alas, I wasn't able to get out to see Zodiac.

Definitely not to me. I mean, Zodiac was good, but that last 10 minutes just jumped around and really disappointed me. Maybe if they didn't try to stay true to the case files they could have given me a satisfying ending.

All I gotta say is that El Wray was a tight character. My favorite action scene was when he was trying to get to Cherry in the hospital. What a bad ass scene.

I found the entire night to be a complete joy. The movies allowed me to abandon a critical train of thought and just completely enjoy the movies. Very rarely does this happen for me. Also, very rarely do I have so much fun just watching something. Even more surprising, I've never seen a more pleased audience at the end of a movie before.

I think it's the best movie to have come out so far this year. At least, it's the most entertaining. It was a pure and utter joy to watch.

And I think it's obvious that Tarantino has a bit of a crush on Zoe Bell.

Yes, she is a stunt double. Uma Thurman's stunt double for Kill Bill, at that.

Bring on the El Wray prequel.
"Planet Terror" was great... Fast paced and fun.
The car chase in "Deathproof" was impressive and worth sitting through the slow parts.
The fake trailers were hilarious.

I'd love to see another Grindhouse movie.

I'm going to see if I can go to it again tonight.

Rodriguez said he already wrote the script for a Machete film and he plans on making it.

i overall liked Grindhouse, Planet Terror was ok for what it was, i just thought Deathproof was much better. The car chase scene was 😮‍💨 , and Zoe Bell was bada$$. I read that they may release on DVD individually, if thats the case i would only want Deathproof.

That would be awesome.

i would rather see werewolf woman of the ss, or thanksgiving. As brilliant as the machette trailer was, i got the entire point, bigass mexican with guns and knives with cheech as his side kick

Yes...

I wouldn't rely on IMDb as a source of Machete being made.

I'd love to see a Machete film though. Hell, I'd be up for any of them except for Don't, which wouldn't be funny beyond the trailer.

I saw Grindhouse last night, and I gotta say, I wasn't all that impressed. In fact, I thought most of Tarantino's Death Proof was extremely boring. The scene where the second set of girls is eating lunch and the camera floats around capturing their conversation was very frustrating to sit through. The shot itself was impressive in that it was probably the longest uncut shot in film history, and if the actresses actually remembered the entire scene without cue cards, then yay. However, the dialogue in that scene was soooooooooooooooo damn boring. Kurt Russel was gold, the car scenes were awesome, but the dialogue just made it suck, I thought it was really really lame.

Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror was a decent zombie movie at best, I enjoyed it much more that Death Proof. Yet, there was nothing really new there. The leg gun on Rose McGowen kicked ass of course, and the zombie death scenes were amazing and hilarious, and I loved the film grain in both movies and the "missing reel" splices where the sex scene and lap dance scene should have been, that was a hoot, but I just wasn't shocked like in Pulp Fiction when Vincent Vega accidentally shoots Marvin in the face, nor was I captivated by any of the dialogue like Mr. Pink's in Reservoir Dogs.

I thought that the fake trailers were pretty funny, but youtube's "Hobo With A Shotgun" was even better than all of Grindhouse's fake trailers put together.

Anyway, maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges, and maybe my expectations were too high, but I just wasn't impressed. I doubt I'll ever watch Grindhouse again.

I found that conversation awesome. I mean, it must've took some rehearsing to get that down and it felt so natural. It was like watching people actually have a conversation instead of reading lines. Quentin Tarantino always has a way to make extraordinary circumstances seem believable because of the natural ebb and flow of his directing/writing.

As for Machete...

seriously, knowing it's about a bigass mexican with guns and knives and cheech as his sidekick...makes me want to see it so much more. I mean...what more could you possibly want? lol

I totally agree with you regarding the technical aspects of that scene, it just bored the hell out of me. 😬

I loved it. The Greatest shitty movie you'll ever see.

im envious
June feels so far away

I loved the movie, overall. I could have done without all the useless conversation in Death Proof. I think if Quentin would have cut done about half of the chicks talking about useless boring stuff the movie would have been an instant classic.
