It wasn't Jean, it was in fact the Stranger.
Jean was merely told by Eternity about the Stranger's plan
to control humanity's eventual evolution into abstracts.
Once he does so, he basically controls the new abstracts of a new universe.

X-Men Forever 1-6 was about humanity's place in the universe.
The keys,
or vanguards, of humanity's future were Toad, Mystique, Jean, Bobby, and Cain.
The Phoenix had nothing to do with it
except that Jean was the only "key" to have touched cosmic hood.

Truth about humanity:

What's this?
Even the Stranger confirms humanity's importance in the universe.
He goes as far as saying "beter species are far more deserving."
Last I checked the Phoenix Force is not a species,
(unless the Stranger is refering to
a bunch of flaming tucans flying about the MU that's never been seen before).

refusing to ackowledge they are the hurricane.
And what is Jean Grey? LOL
Grey is merely the "Touch stone" where as Bobby is the "potentiality."
LOL Where does it say the Phoenix Force?
By touching the PF, Jean merely became a standard, a basis,
a reference point: a touchstone.
Bobby is the "potentially" of that evolution by man to abstract hood.
Each of them are merely representatives (or vanguards)
of the change (acclimation) of the planet's genetic enhancement.

"nuturing your seed (humanity yet again)"
in the same manner they seek to prune the brush
(abstracts destroying all life).

When Galactus was ERASING the Phoenix Force, this is what happened:

Phoenix Force in its natural state is the sustenance of the Stars,
WITHOUT the Phoenix Force's existence
the Stars will fade because they would have no energy to draw on.

and this is WHY, according to Roma:

"That Child (Rachel Summers) IS Phoenix,

The Eternal Pattern, is Phoenix's ROLE in the Universe,
Galactus was going to END that Pattern
by unwittingly ERASING the Phoenix Force from existence,
Galactus initially only wanted to return the Force to the cosmos,
but as we learned, that was impossible,
because Rachel was Phoenix the embodiment of the Force,
so in trying to separate them,
Galactus was indeed killing them both which were one (Rachel/Phoenix)

just like the Official Marvel Handbook clearly states,
Roma, "WARNED Galactus NOT to SLAY Phoenix"

Had Galactus not freed the Phoenix Force with the click of that button,
the Phoenix would have vanished into non-existence.

I dunno.... Those aren't quite as solid as some of the other Omniverse scans you've posted..... In my opinion. 🙂

I'm surprised you don't have scans of Trion Juggernaut physically busting through Dimensions in here... He's only of the only Marvel characters I've ever seen do so, through physical force alone.

Warlock seemed to view it from the outside,
in a tunnel stretching beyond infinity filled with Balls representing all realities.
Reed saw it like on a screen with many mini perceptions into all realities.
Jaspers perceived it as an infinite lego-type structure.

They're all different and yet they have a basic familiarity,
that's very cool and it's the way it should be. 🙂
