Marvel also has multiple realities, and everything along with a bunch of different writers writing something. While the DBZ anime even has it's own Garlic Jr. Saga making at least Dead Zone canon to the anime, and GT is canon to the anime also. I'm not saying GT or the movies are canon material. Even the anime isn't canon. The manga is the canon source but the anime, GT, and at least a few of the movies are all relevant if you use the anime versions of DBZ characters and not the manga.
Good point kento (thought I'll never say that). Back to the fight, Goku vs sentry, goku 10/10 and YES the audience lost sight of goku fights even during the early times in the anime that he was fighting nappa. I dont know why its so hard to give dragonball characters there props for there speed. When written in comics etc.. when theyre pitted against marvel/dc characters, the writer gives them there speed and actually have goku blitzing the characters that there fighting.
Goku 10/10 vs sentry. I dont see anything that sentry could do against a character like goku and since this is the anime version then goku was moving at light speed during regular dragonball since it was said in the anime before he took off his weighted clothing.

In case you didn't notice, the forum is called "anime/manga".Furthermore, the movies are the most inconsistent things ever. Let's just take the first one for now, Dead Zone. Goku has his pole (I forget the name, nyoi-bo or something) when in canon he left it connecting Karin tower to Kami's sanctuary. Goku, Picollo, and Krillin are fighting together to get back Gohan, but in canon, Picollo first meets Gohan when Raditz had captured him. They simply don't fit anywhere in the timeline. GT is even more inconsistent, and it wasn't even based on material created by Toriyama.
and I know theyre inconsistent, a lot of comic book characters are inconsistent too, which is why we have htings like PIS and CIS to help with it and with comics there are many different writers too, the writer did approve of the series and help with the designs the current superman is baaarely based o nthe superman written by the original creators we still use him as the canon superman though.

Having the same creative team doesn't make it canon. Chris Claremont wrote X-Men: The End, but it's still not canon.
the thread starter specified anime fighters so we use the anime version.
further more I Dont see why anyone would be against using the anime seeing as it gives goku supporters a greater range of feeats to use, which is the main problem when theyre debating against characters like superman and (currently) sentry
Originally posted by King KandyWell the movie where Taipon gives Trunks his sword which he has in GT. So that one is canon. Janemba being canon is one of the ones that are impossible..wasn't Gokou dead in that movie? Bojack can be easily put into the series, and Broli while not easily could also. A whole lot easier than Dead Zone could. Any of the movies could be canon with that one being canon.
Dead Zone is the only canon movie, GT is canon to the anime. Actually, Janemba could maybe be canon as well via GT.
Neither can Dead Zone since none of Gokou's friends know of Gohan until Radditz shows up. Super 13 can't fit in, Tree of Might, Lord Slug..almost none can actually fit in. The movie with Taipon, and the one with Bojack are the only ones that have any kind of ability to fit. Well the second and third Broli movies can fit easily also while the first can fit..just wouldn't make sense because it would have to between Cell announcing he Cell Games and when the Cell Games start.

The difference is that the same people who made the anime made the movies, and GT.
Yeah, and they also made tons of other anime. I guess they're all canon to each other 🙄

Except it does not fit anywhere in the anime timeline.

Vegeta's mustache. Gohan not having his powerup. Pilaf still being alive. I could go on.

No. The anime is canon to itself. GT is canon to itself. Each of the movies are canon to themselves (the Cooler movies are canon to each other, so are the Brolly movies, possibly the Janemba movie is canon to the others).
Good point kento (thought I'll never say that).
You just did.
Back to the fight, Goku vs sentry
Oh, is that what we're debating?
YES the audience lost sight of goku fights even during the early times in the anime that he was fighting nappa
There was no audience there, other than the other Z-senshi.
dont know why its so hard to give dragonball characters there props for there speed.
We do. It's just not nearly as fast as fanboys make it out to be.
When written in comics etc.. when theyre pitted against marvel/dc characters, the writer gives them there speed and actually have goku blitzing the characters that there fighting.
What writer? You mean crossover fanfiction? 🙄
Goku would get blitzed to hell by anyone who can even move and react at 1% of lightspeed.
goku was moving at light speed during regular dragonball since it was said in the anime before he took off his weighted clothing.
No it wasn't. Not even in the dub.
BTW not commenting on Sentry, because I am not really a fan of him and I think he's overrated. So if you reply back to me, don't bring up Sentry since I'm not discussing him here.

Because that's the version that is canon according to the copyright holder. Why do people fail to understand this simple concept?
if we use the movie character though its canon, like in the movie version, we use the omvie versions of some comic characters because its the movie forumthe thread starter specified anime fighters so we use the anime version.

The anime has a lot of points against them, as well. The major one being that most ki blasts visibly travel only a few hundred meters per second at most.
the anime characters are a lot strongerr to, I think in GT gohan can strike with the force a planet buster,
If you mean physically, I'd really like to see some evidence for this.
Not to mention GT Gohan was pathetic and way weaker than his DBZ version, they really completely ruined him in GT.
Well the movie where Taipon gives Trunks his sword which he has in GT. So that one is canon.
Um, no. Why did Trunks when he was older than he was in movie 13 as shown in the last episodes of DBZ not have a sword?
Well the second and third Broli movies can fit easily also while the first can fit..just wouldn't make sense because it would have to between Cell announcing he Cell Games and when the Cell Games start.
I'm pretty sure Cell would have noticed and done something about Paragus' spaceship landing on earth. Also the people on earth seemed to be calm and not worried at all about Cell, he wasn't even mentioned IIRC.
Originally posted by Endless MikeAre the rest of the shows DB? No. They made the series to follow after DBZ ended. GT is part of the series. It sucks and should be forgotten but that doesn't make it any less part of the anime.

Yea I know it doesn't yet the anime has the Garlic Jr. saga. Let me guess that one saga is now only canon to itself even though it's part of the anime? And I guess Gokou and Piccolo going to get a license is only canon to itself not the anime? Vegeta blowing up a planet only canon to itself. And every other filler.
Who ever said Vegeta can't grow a mustache? Its not like other saiyans never had one? Sure it was stupid but doesn't mean it can't be done. Gohan getting weaker in twenty years isn't exactly new. He got weaker during the seven years Gokou died. Having a daughter, having to work, not being so focused on training, and all that. Don't know about the Pilaf thing..He died in DB or something? Though if he didn't..he should have been killed in the Buu Saga and not revived but GT has inconsistencies just like the DBZ anime.
Trunks was going over to Gotens house...why would he need his sword? Besides the fact in the manga he doesn't have a sword so why would the part following the manga make him have it. He's also not going to be using a sword in a tournament he doesn't even have to try in to beat most of the people.
Why do you think I said the first Broli wouldn't make any sense whatsoever even though it can be placed. Better than most of the other movies made.

I understand why it shouldn't be used, but I don't personally have much of a problem with the non-canon stuff. Superman still beats Goku either way...
the thread starter stated anime fights, in the movie forum we dont use comic characters we use movie versions even though the comic is the original canon. here thread starter stated anime characters, so we use the anime characters, its only when it isnt stated when we use the original canon
and there were ten years between z and gt, plenty of time for vegita t ogrow a moustache, plenty of time to wish someone back to life, and plenty of time for gohan (who pretty much stopped training all together) to forget his earlier training.
and there are multiple superman comics going on at the same time, where one will have him fighting darkseid while another will have him saving another planet with the justice league, just because the movies are hard to piece together doesnt make them non-canon
