what about Dumbledore? do you think he's coming back????

i think that dumbledore knew what draco was planning because snape would have told him, he must have also know that snape would end up killing him because of the unbreakable vow he made with draco's mother...he was probably expecting what happened and thats why he pleaded with snape...not to spare his life, but to follow through with the plan.

Okay, so Dumbledore doesn't freeze him. He uses another spell that makes Draco able to talk, but not able to move. (Tie him up with that one spell, maybe?)

It would have made more sense than to freeze Harry.

And besides, I know that there are holes in my theory. There are holes in your theory as well. There will be holes in everybody's theories until the seventh book comes out.

That's why it's called speculation. 🙂

Forgive me. I should have said there are ways around everyone's theories.

I'm thinking Dumbledore froze Harry to stop him from doing anything foolish (Which has been previously stated). He wanted to give Draco a chance to come to the good side without having to 'capture' him. If he did capture him, and he refused to come to the good side, what would Dumbledore do? He'd put Draco away. Sooner or later Voldemort would kill him. And if not Draco, then his mother. Dumbledore knew what he was doing and he did it for a reason (obviously).

I agree.

yes you ppl are probaly right, but i still dont think dumbeldore could be dead, bcoz maybe snape and him planned it all, and dumbldore is still alive, they did the whole big funeral thing so that voldermart will think dumbledore is dead!!!!

Harry Potter and the Decaying Narration.....

dumbledore couldn't have freezed malfoy cuz he sent a disarming spell ahead of him. so he couldn't possibly had time to get malfoy. he new he would have to stop harry in case someone did something like that coming into the room.

In the time it took Dumbledore to aim, fire and freeze Harry he could easily have frozen Malfoy instead. He chose to freeze Harry in order for the plan to play out... Malfoy was supposed to kill Dumbledore but in the event his courage failed him (which it did), Snape was to finish the job. That's why Dumbledore said 'Please, Severus...', reminding him of his promise and that if he were to let Dumbledore down all would be lost and Voldemort would be aware of Snape's loyalty to Dumbledore.

And those are the two theories we have come up with so far. 😄

Yeah, its either Reglus or a new character, because 'Black' and 'Bones' are the only 'B' surnames that are main characters.

It could be someone 'Bones', since she was killed quite recently and because it was mentioned it has to be important.

It could be Beatrix? I don't think that they ever said her first name?

Beatrix is the queen of the Netherlands 🙂

This is my first post on these boards so bear with me 😮

I did not read the entire thread, 13 pages and going, eek! I love some of the theories so far, made me think a lot (especially dumbledoreisnotdead.com) 🙂

Here is something I did not see mentionned though, and might add to the pile of clues ( feel free to tell me im wrong!)

On page 575, McGonagall says:

Dumbledore had told us that he would be leaving the school for a few hours and that we were to patrol the corridors just in case.

then, algo on page 575, McGonagall adds:

My fault. I sent Filius to fetch Snape tonight, I actually sent him to come and help us! If I hadn't altered Snape to what was going on...

My thoughts are, shouldnt have Snape patrolled corridors with them? All the other teachers were, apparently. The thing is, and here is my point, if Snape would have been patrolling, he would have been right into the action when the Death Eaters arrived.

At that point, he would have had to join the Death Eaters side right away (otherwise he would have lost his credibility to Lord Voldemort). That would have compromised the plan Dumbledore set for him that night.

Snape was indeed in his office, McGonagall sent to fetch him. I think Snape knew all that and kept in his office until he knew Dumbledore had arrived and could go right to him. I think he also wanted to be alone because he felt he didnt want to continue with Dumbledore's plan, he felt bad (Dumbledore and him had a previous argument where Snape didnt wanna continue anymore with the plan, but Dumbledore reminded him it needed to be done).

Some people might say, on page 577 Hermione says:

He said Professor Flitwick had collapsed and that we should go and take care of him...

Why doesnt that make Snape Evil? First, he only stunned him. He could have done a lot worse, but didnt. Second, I think he needed to go alone so that he could get to Dumbledore as fast as he could. If he had to team with the professor and students, he would have been delayed. So he just stunned him and ran.

There's also when Dumbledore and Harry landed, he told Harry right away to go get Snape. Now this could mean he was really hurt and needed Snape's help, or it could mean he knew "now" was the time to execute his plan.

He also tells Harry "you swore to obey me" when Harry said "but". To me this linked it with the discussion Dumbledore had with Snape about executing their plan and Snape didnt feel he had the hearth to do it. Dumbledore told Snape he "had" to, that he agreed to it.

Thoughts? 😕

I agree. Interesting points you've brought up.

Oh, and welcome to the boards. 🙂

I dont know if I posted this or not, but here it is.

Remeber the first time Harry went to use the Felix Felicis? Before he drank it he said he would go to Slughorns office to try and get the memory. Then after he drank it he said he would go see Hargird. He said "Felix told him i was the right thing to do" and sure enough Slughorn was there. Now, Harry gave the rest of Felix to Hermine, ROn and the rest. Hermione said that She and Luna(I think) went to spy on Snape or follow him or something. Now assuming they both took some of the Felix Felicis, and it didnt wear off, then maybe Felix told them it was the right thing to do, to go and see if Flitwick was okay, since Snape is really good. Hermione is really smart, and she knew she had to follow Snape, how could she let something so little distract her from following Snape? I think the Felix Felicis told her it was the right thing to do.

So what do you think?

Good thinking, I agree 🙂
