T&T on the love triangle.

Okay...this is not a real intelligent and well thought out post...but I'm with you LovelyOne on the one true love....for me....taking all the clues, hints, underlying meanings, chemistry, etc. over the course of both POTC and DMC....is Jack and Elizabeth. I think Will and Elizabeth had a sweet love...a first love..not a love of passion or soul-mating....I think the relationship between Jack and Liz is what destiny is all about...the kind of passionate, long-lasting love between soulmates...and although they may not realize their deep love for one another yet...we do....it's there...in every glance, every touch, every scene....every clue....if this were a romance novel...there'd be no doubt in my mind that Jack and Elizabeth would end up together in the end...and believe me I've read my share of romance novels...thousands....From the very first moment I watched POTC - based on feminine, romantic instincts...I knew they were setting it up for Elizabeth and Jack...then for it to stay and end Will/Liz that really shocked me....if there is no love triangle...then it has to be Jack/Liz..cuz Will and Liz had no romance in DMC>...for me, I left the theatre..the very first time I saw DMC..thinking Jack and Liz were a couple now....believe me in every romance novel (well, let's say 85%) there is a point and time in the relationship were both heroine and hero are in deep denial ...and even betray each other...even go through periods of time where they seem to hate each other....but then in the end....the love, passion, chemistry takes over and all is well and happy in the end...and about 50% of the time...there is a previous, sweet love interest for the heroine...that goes their separate ways...sometimes on good terms, sometimes on bad terms...but the heroine and hero always end up together...If this were a romance sequel of novels...I would be very disappointed in the ending if the Heroine stays with her initial love interest and not end up with the Hero....who to me in this case is Jack and Elizabeth....But then again, I know...this is not a romance novel...this is a story written by T & T - and i've loved both stories so far....and I'm sure I will love AWE.....

but I'm just saying ...base on women intuition, romantic natures...etc..these movies scream out to me: Jack and Liz...

I agree^^ there was that moment in PotC1 where will/Liz had their little "disruption" midway, she pissed him off etc...

When I watched movie 1..I would have expected Jack to end up With Elizabeth. I remember it too and thinking.."why are they not together?"

Mainly because of that moment on the beach..this is the moment when both characters are laid bare for what they really are (both stripped down too)

This usually only happens with a character and their love interest I'm sure of it *remembers back to certain movies*

why did this significant moment for Liz not happen with Will?..the moment where we se her embrace her true self?

and if the continuing theme was really meant to be will/Jack friendship..then why did he not have his revealing moment with him? where he's forced to face himself

its possibly the most significant moment for his charcter..even Johnny picked up ion that way back when movie 1 just came out on DVD

It must be elizabeths most significant moment as well because its basically the same thing.

we see the real characters that are hiding underneath thier shells

never seen this with Will..h didnt get a scene like that in the movie..

its probably the deepest scene in that movie for both characters and Will is no where to be seen

again this is a realy random place to add this but on the island in movie 1 when Jack is trying to find the cellar thing..It looks like he's not listening to a word she's saying but he actually gives a little look, a sort of puzzledish look that she knows so much about him kinda thing

Or if its not that kind of look I dunno what it means but its deffo a lil glance he gives...maybe he's trying to ignore her..because he has been brave in the past but he knows now that he's pretty cowardly and he doesnt want to face up to that.

Like he almost said that do the dog in movie 1..he's like..come on doggie..come on take the bone and it hesitates then he's like "you stupid, smelly, mangey coward!!"..and the dog gets scared and runs away lol

also when he curls his mostache you can hear Elizabeth giggling..may be false giggling but it didnt seem false..I dont think it was..i think she was having a fun time there on the island with him till he passed out and she was back to business.

come to think of it. Liz didnt really know a lot about Jack until after that first encounter...well she didnt seem to.

then next time he's with her she's blabbing on about how much she knows about him and he's like "huh?" *little sideways glance*

she called him "dispicable"..and then we learn she's been doing some reading on him...if she despised him so much why is she showing signs that she's slightly obssesed with him since that first encounter. Also after that encounter..you can see that she's rather excited about the meeting with him..

she also looks as if she's holding back tears when she finds out he's not the real deal..

i'm telling you, its that book she's reading in the scene with the maid. she's doing research on capn jack. 🙂

Liz is probably reading

The Rules of The Seduction Games: Who will fall into the Sex Trap?

Yes she was so in to that book, she almost looked hypnotized while she was reading it. I bet anything that she was getting the insights of Capt. Sparrow.

Yes it makes sense to tie that in with the book she was reading.

Yeah, there's the explanation.

Poor Jack. I think I know the look you're talking about. I like the look where he kind of pushes her away before he tells her what really happened like, "I'm going to tell you, but only because you need to know, not because of anything else."

Oh, Liz was having a blast out there with Jack. I don't think she would have slept with him or anything, she's still a good girl in my book, but she was having a great time. It was her own private moment because no one else in the world had a clue what she was up to. I have yet to see Will make her smile and laugh like that, drunk or sober.

Maybe the book she was reading was the Kama Sutra. 😈

liz can have the mentality of a horny 13 year old lol

Well, she is a frustrated virgin, lol.

I think reading all these adventrues of Jack Sparrow made her even more frustrated lol.

We all have the horny minds of 13 year olds sometimes. 😇

seriosly guys..I think this is the single most significant thing to think of.

Elizabeth says she wants to meet a pirate as a little girl, its her true childhood dream (then will the blacksmith enters)...Imagine if there was no Will added in to movie 1 to balance out the risky character of Jack.

Imagine if Liz had fallen from the fort and met her pirate?

to me..its obvious what the true love story is. Its the one that started before Liz even met Will Turner. The Jack/Liz meeting is far more significant than the W/E meeting. They even tried to make it less suggestive and cut the original scene atmospehric scebe..but it still comes across as he single most important meeting of 2 characters EVER in potc..the W/E one simply introduces the medallion. (in essence..Jack is in this girls life even back then, and he's around the same age as Norrington BTW)

Yes...I've eluded to this somewhere in the last couple of days on another thread....the meeting between Will and Liz is nothing spectacular...but her meeting of Jack Sparrow, now that was exciting...and Jack was very much a Pirate...looks and actions...in that scene.."I think it would be exciting to meet a Pirate"...."it must have been terrifying being threatened by that Pirate and all"....Liz: "oh, yes, frightening".....she doens't looked frightened...she looks intriqued...

and again....she tells her father she will watch over Will and she tells Will "i'm watching over you, Will"....I truly believe deep down inside that Liz just feels responsible for Will..she feels she has to watch over him and protect him....she loves him, yes,...but that's not the same as being in love....

And it would never work between her and Norrie..cuz there is zilch chemistry between the two of them...but I'd rather see Liz with Norrie than with Will.....

Also...here's a connection (I know, I know, I'm reaching, but I likes...I thought about his while walking my 2 miles yesterday).....at the end of POTC Jack's last words to Elizabeth are....."Elizabeth, Darling, it would have never worked between us, I'm sorry"....and Liz's last words to Jack at the end of DMC.."this is the only way, don't you see, I'm not sorry" ( as she desperately wants to kiss him again).....I think she is saying "this is the only way".....we can't be together...we'll never be free as long as this Kracken is after you...and JACK is smiling at her...he is not mad that she has just chained him to the mast....he knows he's going to die...that's why he came back to the ship...he was tired of running....he faces the Kracken bravely...in Jack's mind....he has won Elizabeth, I'm telling you....He was going to stay behind despite what Liz did...he just was enjoying the goodbye kiss...and that Kiss of Death...was very passionate...you can feel it and see it...I don't see how you can't.....

It's ironic though...Jack says "it would never have worked between us, I'm sorry"
Liz says "this is the only way, don't you see, I'm not sorry"....
Lovely, Misty, Ckiki, Kate...what do ya'll think?

i think that post was HOTTT... *fans self* Jack and Liz are so totally meant to be. wow i sound like a valley girl today. wierd.

I LOVE your putting together of those two quotes. "it would never have worked between us" and "this is the only way, dont you see... i'm not sorry."

incredible. I LOVE THAT> more proof that Jack and Liz think alike. thats so hott.

seriously, they are MEANT TO BE> i know i am not saying anything intelligent today... but it just seems so obvious, so clear!

Lovethemtigers, I agree with you 100%

The 2 endings do seem to match and its very ironic. Liz WAS sorry, sorry that she couldn't be with the man who she loves bc the kraken has Jack and Will also has Elizabeth.

There's a commercial, an oatmeal commercial where women do something or they try to walk and There's a weight thing that you weigh yourself in tied to their legs. It limits them to do stuff they really want to do. OK where am I going with this? Jack wishes to be with Liz and desires a life with her, but he has the kraken tied up to him and Davey. Liz wants Jack, she wants to be with the man she loves, but Will is holding her down, has her chained.

They are both limited in doing what they want bc each of these has something/someone that holds them down. I think POTC1 Jack was sorry because liz chose a life with the whelp, so there was nothing he could do about it. Liz said she wasn't sorry (BS) but she was bc whats because Jack has a responsibility/dept with the kraken and Liz has a responsibility as a fiance with Will.

When Jack tells Elizabeth that he "admires someone who......"

What is that quote? Is it from peas in a pod?

chiki, did you honestly just reference an oat meal commercial?>??? HAHAHAHAHAH that is the best thing i have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙂 😄

i have a dumb question. why the heck do w/l shippers try to interpret the sinking wedding dress as "the relationship is just going to get tough"... what the heck is that about? a sinking wedding dress SO OBVIOUSLY means a doomed wedding/marriage. not a tough relationship. know what i mean?

Seeking dress meaning that if she was in that dress she wouldve drowned along with it. For example POTC1, if jack didnt rip the dress in half she wouldve gone up to the surface. She wouldve stayed at the bottom of the sea.

That wedding dress sinking is a symbol: If she steal wore that wedding dress, she wouldve drown along with it. Into the depths of doom, along with the fanatic obsession W/L shippers. The wedding was and is not meant to be.
