The Greek cannot support that as in NT, where the Jesus would be does not use 'El' or 'elohim' as those are Hebrew words. Added to that is that only the NT is the distinction between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit made.

If Jesus was not the EL then he is not as he never said he was.

No one in the NT called him the EL...........Except paul.....and didn't do that either....not really.

And the Father is not called El either, but to deny that he is indeed El, would pretty stupid. So therefore, El is not relevant to the NT context and language.

El אל can be translated as God

Its even used in Elohim a comon name for God in the OT

Lots of people use Elohim trying to show how much they know about Hebrew when they know almost nothing. It makes me laugh when people try to sound like they know what they are talking about. Elohim is definitely used for God in the OT. Very frequently actually.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but I wasn't referring to you, but I am referring to a certain someone on this forum.

It is indeed the same God as is blatantly obvious. However, in Greek, the words El and Elohim are not used because of the language difference. You can find a few unique Hebrew words in the NT, but El is not one of them. That is why the language does not reveal Christ as God, but scripture does.
