***Like you...Mark Twain was NOT a believer in Jesus Christ...and, as such, whatever he writes or says about Jesus Christ and the Christian faith is at enmity with it. Too, as a lost sinner...he knew NOTHING about Christianity...nor UNDERSTOOD the gospel of Christ..."But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are LOST: in whom the god of this world hath BLINDED the MINDS of them which BELIEVE NOT, lest the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them" [2 Corinthians 4:3-4].
Prayers, therefore, for Satan are a waste of time...he will NEVER be converted or have a change of heart. Too, the Scriptures make it very plain that his DOOM is CERTAIN...that he and all of his angel co-horts who rebelled against God...will be cast "into the ETERNAL FIRE prepared for the DEVIL and his angels" [Matthew 25:41]. All evil comes from him...and he will do everything he can do to spew forth deception and death upon the earth. The bible says that "there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native tongue...for he is a LIAR and the father of lies" [John 8:44].
No, Christians don't pray for Satan to repent...but the Bible does tell us to pray that he will be bound...and that those who follow him will be prevented from carrying out their evil schemes. We [Christians] should pray this both for ourselves and the world. The apostle Paul wrote: "Pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith" [2 Thessalonians 3:2].
The most important truth about Satan is...that he is a defeated foe...for by His [Christ's] DEATH and RESURRECTION Jesus Christ CONQUERED SATAN...SIN...and the GRAVE.

marchello it was a joke
If you use the Bible frequently and know where to look it's not that hard to keep up with him. All you really need is to understand the Bible and use a good Concordance.
http://www.biblegateway.com/keyword/
Here's an online concordance. Type whatever you want in and you can find it in the Bible. I'm rather sure that Marchello doesn't have all the verses he mentions memorized (of course I could be wrong). Those posts don't take as long as you might think if you use a concordance. I used to post a lot more verse and it never used to take me long.

Jesus taught some wise words in his parables. Jesus did nothing more than that. Jesus was a wise man. Jesus could of been sent by god. Jesus never said he was god. Jesus is like you and I but more enlightened. Jesus said we could be like this also.Look at some of his parables for god sakes...
I own a concordance and a Greek linear bible....and I also have the whole documents of the Christian church from the years of before it was a church until the present time....and I own the Fox's books,This along with other books from many points of view including the slanted ones and top universities.
I would suggest that you go to your Greek, Hebrew and look at the root words before making statements about what Jesus taught. Oh and Aramaic too cause that is what Jesus was speaking.
I do. Quite simply said. I use an Inter-Linear Greek Bible, and a Companion Bible, and a Strong's Concordance, and I have subscription to the second largest online library in Canada. I do know what I am saying.
An example for my above post. You said that Jesus only spoke in parables and inferred that Jesus never claimed to be more than a man. I said you were wrong. Now to show you some Greek knowledge of what Jesus was saying.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
truth: should actually be 'and the truth' which is polysyndeton emphasizing what Jesus is saying
no man: should be 'no one'
by: should be 'through'
but: should be 'if not'
The Greek word for truth used here is 'aletheia' which is derived from 'alethes' which means true as contrasted to what is false. It is the opposite of a lie which is 'apseudes' in Greek. 'Alethes' appears in John 3:33, , John 5:31, and John 8:13.
Now lets look at the Greek word 'dia' which is translated as 'by' in the KJV. With the Genitive case it has the general sense of 'through' as though dividing a surface into two by an intersecting line. It includes the idea of 'proceeding from' and 'passing out'. In ideas of space and time 'dia' denotes any cause 'by means of' which an action passes to its accomplishment; hence, it denotes the passing through whatever is interposed between the beginning and the end of such an action.
Oh and BTW, most scholars agree that Jesus likely knew four languages and probably used them all throughout the Bible. Aramaic, Greek, Latin, and Hebrew.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
Meaning? How about this meaning.........Jesus was showing us that (if these words if not weren't tampered with) that we all can be too if we would follow what his teachings were...........like love everyone and not to judge them ...........Give of yourself, love your enemies, give your coat, the parable of the great pearl........ie knowledge of what is most important in this life.
I thought all his parables were about self sacrifice to another for all the good that can come from it

If there is ever a reason to pray for someone, this is certainly one.
Ummm...no. You told me to go to the Greek so I did. What the untampered Greek shows by the word 'dia' is that 'by means of' Jesus we can be saved. Or alternative, 'no one' can cometh (if we understand John 6:44 we know that this means 'is able to come'0 unto the Father 'if not' 'by means of' [Jesus]). The Greek spells it out quite nicely.
