Im not saying you, but atheist yes. I see youre an atheist but if you dont want me to be like that and say "You" than I should just say "atheist". Sorry about that.
Incase you didn't know Jacope, I am atheist, and practically everyone I know is atheist. And I've never heard anyone kill anyone else. IN fact, most deaths are caused by religion. It's called a holy war.

In much of organised religion, Satan is the one which seems to encourage free thought....hmmm
Interesting.

Personally, if I was any religion, I'd pick Satanism, chaos over order.

Satan promotes violence and all that is evil...you worship him, you basically worship murder, deciet, anger, hate, terrorism, the works...sounds radical, but its true because its all pure evil.

But I dont hate anyone, not even satan. But I disagree with satanisim.

You seem to like quotes. Here's one. “Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the almighty creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the lord.” Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf.

And...........................?

has anyone yet had the idea that it's people who kill people... and not some religion... the crusades are not Christianity's fault... they are the people of that time's fault... The crusades were also largly the pope's fault and last I checked the pope was a person and not a religion... the most deaths are caused by people being led blindly by other people... I say ignorance has caused the most deaths in this world... not Christianity or Atheism...

To some extent I agree, but these deaths were Church sacntioned, and therin lies your disctiction.

Atheists don't have the ability to sanction anything as they are not an organization. However, churches do.

but the church is different from Christianity... in many cases I consider the church to be a separate religion all it's own... 😄

Well, I guess you can argue that. Very few people who have the existentalism and independace to seperate themselves from the Church still refer to themselves as Christian.

I use some Christian philosophies, but I am clearly not Christian.

However, I don't think you can deny that the vast majority of Chirstians associate themselves with a Christian Church.

The satan thread needed a C.O.S. link. Just doing my part, no need to thank me.

'Cause God's all anti-that.

And yet the millions (if not thousands) killed during the time of Roman Persecution should not simply be allowed to go over looked. And besides (since you choose Catholicism) your only picking out the few areas of fault compared to the large areas of contribution. And for the sake of argument, Native American (unless you specifically are targeting South America) "extermination" did not occur in the North well enough to consider it amongst the Crusades and Spanish Inquisition. Secondly, still considering numbers, only 22 [recorded] deaths were accounted for in the Salem Witch Trial (even though I am defending the puritan religion). And so the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition (~700 years) can not account, or fully surmise thereof, 2,000+ years of religion.

Um... as far as I know no reputable historian gives any credence to the claim "millions" were killed during the Christian persecutions. Exaggerations from later Christian authors (including Eusibius) are seen to be inaccurate as statistical evidence implies it would be impossible for "millions" to have died.

I really need to move myself to a forum devoted to discussing religion rather than a movie forum filled with forumite undermensch trolls.

Yes. Maybe you should. Or you know, you could just try and be a bit less pompous.

I'll work on that if you work on not being a forumite undermensch troll.

Well, this is a movie forum, but since really all you consistantly provide is misguided and useless rhetoric, I don't really se us as being the focus point of the problem.

People are idiots. Get it? Shut up.

If you throw in a washer/dryer then I think we have a deal.

I'd wager those of us of a less religious inclination often contribute more meaningful discourse than those who believe a debate entails nothing more than posting scripture and pious sanctimonious tut-tuts. But hey that's just one undermensch troll's opinion.

Satan represents:

indulgence instead of abstinence.

vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams.

undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.

kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates.

vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.

responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.

man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all.

all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.
In other words chaos owns order.
