What does America owe England?

But this is a situation where the US owes the UK also. It has to be the best example of mutual alliance and co-operation for mutual benefit against a clearly evil threat that there has eber been. It shouldn't really call for so much argument, but mutual admiration. [/B]

And that is the truth, America needed the U.K. and the U.K. needed America. Both joined forces for their own good.

I also really do not feel that Russia defeated Germany more so than Germany's shi!t poor decisions on the Eastern front defeated Germany. If Hitler had waited and bid his time, I think the poorly armed Russian forces would have been pushed back all the way to Moscow.

To be fair- Navy, yes, but the Germans had become a bit of a phenomenon with the airforce, especially in the early parts of the war in which we discuss. Before the BoB the Germans wiped the floor. The RAF learned the game during the BoB. But by the latter half of the war the Luftwaffe simply withered and died, even though bthe Germans were turning out amazing planes.

It was the British airforce that was the phenomenon once every one knew chamberlain's foreign policy wasn't working. I can't remember the figures but our air force increased faster than others in the short time before the war.

Err... they were pushed back all the way to Moscow.

But just look at how much fighting capacity Russia had left at the end, despite being slaughtered for so long. Germany could never have done it.

No. Britain had radar and effective commanders. Germany had veteran pilots, AND numbers.

Veteran pilots?? Veterans of bombing spanish towns?

No. The German airforce went from nothing to everything; the British already had the necessary prerequisite for building a modern airforce.

Fighting Spanish fighters, Bristih and French fighters in the Fall of France. It's much more than any Britain pilot had.

I think we call all agree... The US & UK+allies Beat Germany+allies... 😐

Britain demilitarised under chamberlain, where the heck did you learn history? The air force was obsolete and Hitler was developing planes in Russia for years while Chamberlain took the air force apart and concentrated on the navy for maintaining the empire.

They bombed Spanish towns and when they faced Britain they lost, they weren't veterans except when it came to bombing cities.

Do you listen? Britain had the prerequisite like the U.S.; did they have military means? No. They used civilian companies to further their details. Germany didn't have that infastracture.

Where the hell do you get this? The Germans owned the skies during the Fall of France.

I meant to imply Germany would have taken Moscow and set up camp, if that had happened, the Russian will to fight would have sunken.

Russia did have an almost endless supply of men, 1 in 2/3 soldiers were armed all the time, ammo was in short supply, their training wasn't top notch and their vehicles weren't the best, cool tanks that could take a hit like no other, but low tech compared to the Germans. They basically didn't have their shit together to properly wage war.

Erm... If the Germans fought British pilots then surely the British must have fought the German one's therefor... Both had experience? therefor both veterans (by your standing)?.... Your sentence as it is makes no sense.

No. Operation Barbarossa was doomed from the beginning; even taking Moscow wouldn't have broken the Russians or given the Germans the ability to withstand the Russian Winter.

Actually, their tank was the best in the world.

In the Spanish civil war, really dude brush up on the history. The germans used this as a test for their pilots. They bombed Geurnica, a small town much removed from the events in Spain and missed both strategic targets.

Who started talking about the fall of france?

No. The British pilots that did go up against Germans didn't come back with experience; they were killed. And the few that did come back, weren't in number to actually match the Germans.
