Indeed. I have two relatives who work for the modeling industry, neither of whom work for any huge labels. They both work for Hanes. But their department gets to see the "rough drafts" of model shoots for up-coming add campaignes. And the pictures they've sent are hideous, at least in regards to the industry standards of beauty. They hack off about two kids worth of extra leg fat, skin blemishes, breat shadows or skin creases, etc. The modeling industry is not what it appears to be. But, the runway is another matter. Those people on the runway don't look like that all the time, but if you want to earn the big money, you look like that without all the computer aided drafting and high maintenance.

hmm... reminds me how i felt when i saw Angelina Jolie in HD w/out her makeup and realized she had as many freckles as lindsay lonhan...

Beauty is something funny. It can be totally shaped, created in a studio. There is absolutely no merit associated to it. You just create it ! Like in those plastic surgery tv shows... the swan, extreme makeover, etc... still it can affect people so much.

Freckles aren't bad, though I don't particularly like Jolie whether she is made up or not. I never could understand the whole "she is the most beautiful women on the planet."

But fascinating clip, so much work, essentially creating an entirely new image, because the girl is almost unrecognisable by the end.

And that is why I don't use models as a benchmark for hotness. There are plenty of hot chicks that I see everyday. And they're real! 😱
