I'm scaring myself.
I'm going Willabeth. I watched an absolutely amazing Willabeth video, and started to like it. I was thinking things like "It's not lust or shallow like Sparrabeth. Will deserves to get the woman he loves. She loves him so much she'll wait for him for 10 years on that island." I don't know. Then I was trying to figure out why I loved Sparrabeth. I thought like "Maybe I just loved it because I loved the way they flirted on the Pearl. And they have great chemistry. But would I love it if they had no chemistry like Willabeth? Jack wouldn't be faithful." Then I started to be SATISFIED with a Willabeth ending.
Help?

Look at Willabeth this way - Will deserves a noble woman not a murderer 😄 She's a pirate, so she is made for Jack.

Hmmm. That's a good thing for you! While us Sparrabethers sit around thinking about what could have been and never will be...you get satisfaction!! You get peace.

But I must say...the reason I love JE isn't cause they flirted!! I liked it because they challenged eachother. Elizabeth wanted him but didn't want to want him...same for him. She loved Will but she couldn't understand the feelings she had for Jack.

She commits the biggest act of piracy...she sacrifices Jack. Slakes her lust, drowns her temptations(literally) and then decides to rid herself of the guilt by going after him.

She tells him that he's a good man...and if he proves this and becomes a good person like her he can gain the rewards that people like her deserve to have...meaning having her. But to be that good person he mustn't put her in a position that will compromise her honor...so he can't have her.

So she's basically saying that he can have her if he's a good person but to be that good person he has to refrain from having her so...he can never have her. Savvy?! So that's very beautiful IMO.

It's the fact that they can't have eachother...he loves his freedom and she loves Will but they'll always want eachother none the less. Forbidden love mates...

BTW I read chapter 10 of The Flying Dutchman and....so sad!! So beautiful!! Thank god there's sequel.

Thanks 🙂 I think that what Liz feels for Will isn't a love with all that comes with it. I dare to say that it could be a mercy for poor blacksmith. She has felt obligated to take care of him since she found him. He grew up by her side, so he should be more like a brother to her. It is obvious for me that there is a lack of lust in their relationship. She kissed Jack so passionately and she didn't stop Norrie from kissing her. I think that Will needs a quiet woman, who would make him a dinner while he would play with his hammer 😄

I'm kind of back to Sparrabeth now (Thank goodness..I was scaring myself).

Ahh I miss the good old days. When we had faith, and Sparrabeth was fresh and new and better than ever. Back when they won as best on-screen match-up at the 2006 People's Choice Awards. Ah I miss it.

It's hard to understand the authors. Liz and Jack won this Award and they decided to marry her with Will not thinking about all the people who love L/J together. 🙁 It makes no sense.

They won fair and square!!! Though WE's chance of winning that award is high too but...you know what I mean!! People LOVE JE!!
For everyone who was neutral WE was hot too...but if AWE was JE...you KNOW that would draw more attention.

I only ask because im thinking of maybe making one for all of us at KMC to go to for any old reason 🙂 just so we dont lose touch 🙂

We dont have to talk about potc (although we can!) we can talk about everyday stuff and just not lose touch...so many people are hardly here anymore 🙁

tee_pirategirl - Of course. That would definitely draw more attention. Everyone I know wants JE ending. How could they end this story with WE ending, knowing that so many people love JE.

yes, idea is great. I wish the dvd would be realised earlier, then more people would be here taking about alternative ending and cut scenes 😉 I would be very disappointed if they gave us only the movie from cinema without any additional scenes.

I posted this video a page back...hambah, watch this and you will once again be reminded that Sparrabeth was more that just lust and chemistry. Jack And Elizabeth have a connection, things just kept drawing them back together, their love is challenging and sexy and full of passion, both love and hate, it's forbidden and unlikely....they are both Pirates. If Will had his druthers, he wouldn't chooes Piracy...but Jack and Elizabeth embrace Piracy. Why does Will deserve the woman he loves? I haven't figured out why Liz would want to wait 10 years for Will to return....Jack can be faithful.......but on the other hand, if you do accept Willabeth, Like Tee girl said, then you can find peace..whereas, us devoted and die-hard Sparrabethers will forever be seeking some type of closure...who knows maybe we will get it in POTC 4 one way or the other....but for now, we cling to Sparrabeth and all that could have been.

all i can say is that Jack and Elizabeth were made for each other, that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it...
