After AWE I told my husband how all of us on here wanted to see Jack and Elizabeth get together...and my husband's response...."no way, that would not have been right. That would have meant that Jack stole Elizabeth from Will and that can't happen. What would have happened to Will"..and i told him "there were other options that could have been acceptable" and he was like "no, Jack's just selfish, he didn't really want to stab the heart, he's such a coward"...so I stopped talking with him about it cuz it made me too angry...Jack is so misunderstood by the general public...and that's what my hubby is....he didn't even like the Pirate movies.....he thought the first one was okay and he hated the second one.

Jack is so misunderstood by the general public...

I think that is another reason why we like the J/E pairing - we understand Jack and we know that Lizzie sees through all his masks, she sees the man within, the man behind the legend.

I think that most people just see Jack as the slapstick comedy - a scoundrel and all that. But he really is so much more, his character has so much depth (or deppth if ya like 😉 ).

yeah...or so we thought....but then in the end he just went back to his strumpets, his rum and his selfish quest for immortality.....sorry, I'm just bitter today..I just wanted so much more for Jack Sparrow

I did truly believe that Liz saw parts of Jack that no-one else saw...that's why there was such a connection between them...he had showed her his scars, he had showed her his true side at the end of DMC...he had conversations with her unlike anyone else, even Mr. Gibbs.....and Jack knew things about Elizabeth that no one else knew, including her whelp of a husband.....

I know. But, 'tis a sad side effect of it being a Disney franchise. The "good" boy who worked hard to win the lady's affection is rewarded with fair lady's heart.

I knew they wouldn't go sparrabeth in the end but I knew they would tie up their little triangle nicely. And Jack would have a great ending. I didn't know what ending it would be but I knew it would be good.

🙁 They didn't tie it up nicely. And because of that, the ending was a bit sour for me and the fact that he didn't have his beloved Pearl which he worked so hard for in CotBP upset me..

Before I saw AWE, I said that even if JE didn't happen, I would be happy because they would probably have an awesome ending. But not only was it WE, but the ending was horrible. I left theater with a sick feeling in my stomach.

And I probably wouldn't have had that sick feeling if the curse would've been broken after ten years, and if I had stayed after the credits for that extra scene at the end. It would've been cute. But the ending they picked was just.. bitter. I don't know. Very sad.

😂 My husband is thinks the same way as yours. It was horrible sitting with him in the movies,he said it is boring.Otherwise he said almost exactly the same thing.

EEEE!! I'm proud you could sit through the movie with some one who didn't like the franchise. My friend loves the pirate movies (not as much as I do) and even then when she said "Dude! Jack is such a wimp." (this was when he was rowing away from the Pearl in DMC) I hit her over the head and then said "You're the wimp!" when we saw that he came back.

It just bothers me that they spent all of DMC to prove that Jack really IS a good man and that in AWE they went SO against that. Even the great sacrifice he made was seen as something selfish.

Don't get me wrong I did NOT want the trickster side of Jack to fade out. I love that part of him but couldn't they mix the nobleness in with that?

My boyfriend likes COTBP but he hates DMC so much that he doesn't want to see AWE. He just can't stand DJ and his FD.

After seeing AWE I thought that everyone had his punishment for his/her sins. I wasn't sure if the course would be broken after 10 years, so it seemed to me that Liz was punished for killing Jack - she would see her love maybe 7 times. Will was punished for making deal with Sao Fang and lying (or maybe not being honest 😉 ). Jack was punished for treason, maybe even for the fact that he wanted to shoot Barbarossa after they came back (he shot first). Maybe that's why Barbarossa got Jack's ship. It's not like a Disney movie at all.

Hm, I'd never thought of it this way. Nice points (*does Jack bow with steepled fingers*)

Thanks 😉

i found today:

I think it's the scene that was cut.

They cut out a lot more than that lol.

They cut lines of what Beckett said to Jack-planning to escape with Elizabeth.

There's a long list that was cut and a long list of plot holes.

We are not sure if you are getting sick and tired of all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies but we do have a movie scoop for you (sorry), there is going to be another one which will be Pirates of the Caribbean 4. How many do they plan to make, if they carry on we might drink as much as Jack Sparrow (glug glug). The new Pirates of the Caribbean 4 which will definitely star Johnny Depp is scheduled for release between 2009 to 2011 and apparently will cost an estimated $40 million to for Depp’s fee (nice).

Geoffrey Rush and Gore Verbinski will be the directors, sources have said that this movie will solely be based on Captain Jack Sparrow (do not count us on this one), so does this mean goodbye to Elizabeth and Will and does this mean more of Jack Sparrow. Please remember these might be rumours and some sources are not always correct, we will definitely keep you posted mark our words.

Dear me. As much as I want to sit on dear ol' Jack's lap, I don't think I want a fourth without the complete cast. I don't want Jack Sparrow to be added there with random pirates.

What are they gonna do? Jack gets immortal, yay? Or will they spend 3 more movies having him chase immortality and ultimately end up in a dinghy singing? Barbossa will be the one to get immortality probably lol

I suppose non-shippers (non-Sparrabeth and non-Willabeth) don't analyse relationships in movies or TV shows at all. They probably just watch the movie for the plot lines.

I was not really a POTC fan nor a Johnny Depp fan until I watched CotBP on my cable TV last year. I was fascinated by Johnny's acting and the Jack Sparrow character. I never intended to be a shipper but the chemistry between Johnny and Keira on the island scene hooked me immediately. So I don't understand how some people don't see Jack and Liz pairing as possible. Maybe shippers are just romantic die-hards.. 😄

The island scene was great. You could fell the sparks flying and the chemistry between them though they were argueing. And the dancing around the bonfire..........ah

That scene was beautiful.. 😍 Our second taste of Sparrabeth

I imagined the island scene with Will and Liz....aaaauuuuuugh I don' think they could open up to each other that much as Jack and Liz.I can't imagine them dancing happily around the bonfire singing Lizzy's pirate song. Will would have been too polite, and Elizabth couldn't have been her real herself either.

Haha you're so right.
Jack and Elizabeth had just met, but they were able to open up to each other more than Will and Elizabeth, who had known each other for 8 years.

I think Lizzy was afraid of her feelings for Jack throughout the three movies.

Yeah, I think so too. She knew there was something there, but wasn't willing to give into her "curiosity" for a while.
