Their last scene together is annoyngly provocative. She WANTS to kiss him (what? leans in to kiss Jack when she's just MARRIED Will and is on her way to sleep with him? how is THAT kosher?? and in front of the whole crew, too...) and Jack is clearly saving face for her... you know, reminding her of her decision. And when Jack denies her, she get's this look on her face that can only be described as "Buyer's remorse"... disappointment or at least bitterness in realizing what she gave up for what she got. or maybe i'm reading too much into things...

No, no, no, No! Don't doubt yourself for a minute, I think you've hit it right on the dot. You've got it exactly right, in my eyes, Kate 😉

oh I think you are right on the money....even if that's not how T and T intened it to be..that was we all felt from watching Johnny and Keira's portrayal's of their characters...thus this scene....the look and the look but then look away so no one notices...

why do they always look for each other and share glances.....why do they look at each other the way they do! Yes, I wish we could ask Johnny and Keira these questions!

I wish too. 🙁 Sigh.

those pics are hilarious... looks like someone's got a little crush.

it will be nice to see the dvd extras on awe... you know, the making of and such. maybe it will make the movie seem more fun or something.

oh my bad....I thought Elizabeth was looking at Jack...but on closer inspection...she was actually looking at Jack the Monkey... 😆 🤣

I agree the look on her face is the realization of something! though I cant believe she is realizing it til then considering he rescued her (more times than i can count on my hands), he came back to save them all from the Kracken, she had this driving impulse to save him from Davy's locker (because of guilt because she knew he didnt deserve it and Love[sorry couldnt resist mate..lol]), he entrusted her with his vote for Pirate King, he gave up his immortality to save Will, amoung other things. She had known he was always a good man, a good man who could have kissed her fierecly there in front of his entire crew and ruined her good name but since he was a good man "He would never put her in a position that would compromise her honor." He still respected her even after she killed him. When do we here of a Pirate respecting a woman who willingly throws herself at him? huh? Never so it's gotta be love!

even in the kiss of death Jack still didnt react to the point where a Pirate put in that position would react...he didnt throw her against that mast, he didnt feel her up, he didnt throw her on the ground and had his way with her....he barely touched her except for a soft hand on her waist he respected her even then, but the kiss did something to Jack and Liz it was gentle yet passionate! The way those 2 were flirting throughout the movie one would think that when their lips finally did meet they would ravage each other with lustful fierceness...but they didnt and i think they both never expected it to be that sweet and passionate! and it definately revealed a lot more about their feelings that they had hope never to reveal because of who they were!!

I think it was Liz realizing that Jack was her soul mate but she had chosen her fate, she had taken her vows and it was too late! Though she knew she would be happy with Will because she truly did love him, she knew she would never forget Jack and she deep down inside loved him too! "Peas in a Pod Love!" "We're very much alike I and U, Uand I, US!" "Curiosity" "I could infact perform a ma-rri-age right here, right on this deck, right now!" I'm pretty sure everything he had ever told her flashed through her memory at that very second of "I think once was quite enough" her look of regret and realization followed by a smile of respect she was sure at that point Jack felt for her too! *sighs*

you know the funny thing is that the look was intentional, Jack meant to look for her! At first maybe I thought he just happened to look, but i saw a behind the scenes of AWE where i saw a bit where Johnny was rehersing that bit with Gibbs and he kept looking over then they did it with the whole crew and shot it and the look was there everytime! Johnny wanted that brief unnoticed look there for a reason...i just want to know why??

Cause it's his fault sparrabeth didn't happen because he wanted to win an oscar for his tragic rejected lover role... 😉

Well, there are two ways of looking at it, just like there are two ways at looking at almost every aspect of sparrabeth. The first way is that this is a simple goodbye kiss that was probably going to be on the cheek and would turn into a hug. Jack, not being the hugging type and not wanting Liz to be sad, says his line and just looks lovingly at her. Friendship, some playfulness, etc.

And then you have the second way of looking at it. To me, it doesn't look like Elizabeth is going to just hug him or give him a kiss on the cheek, both of which would have been well inside the confines of her marriage vows. No, she looks like she's going for his lips. That's what it's always looked like to me and Jack, once again, does not want to get into that. She's married, happily, and if he is truly in love with her at this point, the last thing he wants is to tempt her into leaving her husband. What a dilemma to cause someone! No, he cuts the romantic actions off right there, and while I'm sure he will visit her and they will have a few adventures together, I think he'll be much less willing to open up to her like he did in DMC.

So we have to come back and answer what should be very simple questions: does Elizabeth love Jack and does Jack love Elizabeth?

"I think it was Liz realizing that Jack was her soul mate but she had chosen her fate, she had taken her vows and it was too late! Though she knew she would be happy with Will because she truly did love him, she knew she would never forget Jack and she deep down inside loved him too! "Peas in a Pod Love!""------PirateDiva

I think you've hit the nail on the head, PirateDiva. I think this is the best explanation of Liz's feelings I've ever read. That's exactly how she feels and like I've said a million times, because of the way things happened, Elizabeth would never have a relationship with Jack unless Will were dead and she had had her time to get over it. She loves Will and I respect her decision to keep her vows. But if things were different, I think she knows she would be happy with Jack and that she would love him very very much.

^^^ just thought i would ask you lovely people to take a look at this vid i made 🙂

All three ships, so theres a bit of variety 🙂

The song is called 'playing my game' and its by lene marlin (again lol). Its a beautiful song, and to me it really explains elizabeths character...she cares for all three men, but in the end she had to do what was right for her...

Which is sad really, because she did end up with will lol 🙂

Yay!! U know when Willo agrees i've said something right!!! lol

Ya it's just too bad she couldnt kick Will to the Curb!! The Whelp got to her before Jack did dang it!!

The girl had COURAGE to walk away from Jack!! I think i would have tied my wedding vows to an anchor and hurled them over the rail watching them sink to the depths of the sea and hope to the heavens they stayed there! Then turn around and marry Jack and actually sign LEGAL DOCUMENTS right away!! lol

Thank you for the compliment. You're really onto something and I felt the need to praise it.

Yes, unfortunately, walking away from Jack proves how in love she is with Will because while she can love Jack too, she can't leave Will and she knows she will be happy with him because he's cool in his own way. I'm telling you right now if my husband were in Will's place (shivers at the thought) and the same course of events happened, I would never leave him for Jack. Yes, my husband is much cooler and more of a badass than Will, but you get my point.

With how things happened, I'm glad she stayed faithful. But if a few things had gone differently, her going with Jack would have been the best thing about the whole series.

What a beautiful video, T. Maria! It's absolutely gorgeous.

T. Maria, I've been meaning to ask you... would you do a James/Elizabeth video to the song "Overboard" by Ingrid Michaelson? I think that would be lovely... if you wouldn't mind sometime! 🙂

Oh, 'sighs'.you1re absolutely right love.I agre with every word you said.He loves her enough to let her go.

Precisely the point. Jack loves Liz and Liz loves Jack. Period.

ofcourse i will 🙂

i have time tonight, i will do it then 😄

Kate....I've been meaning to tell you...your siggy is hysterical..I love it! Almost as good as the one you had that said never trust a man who wears stockings! LOL

I agree with everything everyone is saying....I think Jack and Liz loved each other...and I think the reason Liz stayed with Will was because she had already made a commitment to him and because he was a good man she could not hurt him...I feel the same way, if I put my husband in Will's place..would I leave him for Jack.....hummm....maybe! JUST KIDDING......but that's real life...this was a movie, a fantasy world....all of us would love to throw caution to the wind, forget socialtal constraints and go with our heart, our passions instead of our brain and what is expected.....so we were living this dream world thru Lizzy and in the end...she did the safe thing....so we are forced even through Elizabeth to stick to what's right, what's expected...instead of throwing caution to the wind, jumping overboard and sailing out to sea with Jack! Because deep down inside that is what all of us would really like to do...or at least I know I would! LOL

Well.....I've just found something that has made my stomach turn...this is from the very first orginal rough draft of AWE script.....:

link:http://z8.************.com/Tasty_Pirates/index.php?showtopic=353&st=840&#entry3342198

And here's one that absolutely had to be cut, or Will and Elizabeth would end up looking like monsters:

QUOTE

EXT. BLACK PEARL - DAY

Elizabeth takes Will aside.

ELIZABETH: There can be no secrets between. Not now.

WILL: No.

ELIZABETH: Jack was never a hero. I was selfish. I sent him to his death, to save us all. That is why I went to rescue him.

WILL: I was afraid ... you were falling in love with him.

ELIZABETH: I'm sorry. Afterwards ... I thought perhaps I was not worthy of you.

WILL: You know what?

ELIZABETH: What?

WILL: The scoundrel deserved it.

Elizabeth can't help a smile.

WILL (CONT'D): No secrets. I am the one who betrayed the location of the island. I did it to save you.

Be veryVeryVERY thankful that at least they didn't try and foist THAT off on us!

How the Pieces of Eight finally get used

QUOTE

Midships, Barbossa lays out the eight collected items.

BARBOSSA: Pr'aps eight out of nine will do the trick. How do we know 'till we try?

Tia Dalma -- still tied and chained -- shakes her head.

TIA DALMA: No. I am sorry. Magic is funny that way.

Barbossa stares at the items -- and has a sudden realization.

BARBOSSA: The letters ...
(calls)
The Letters! Will! The Letters of Marque!

Barbossa strides across the deck.

BARBOSSA (CONT'D): Beckett used his ring to stamp this, yes?

ELIZABETH: Yes ...

BARBOSSA: Yes!
(To Tia Dalma)
The symbol is the same, from the same ring. Might it work?

TIA DALMA: It might. Magic is funny that way.

Crew members take note of the activity, start to gather around

WILL: I cannot think of a reason not to try.

ELIZABETH: And quickly!

Barbossa piles the eight talismans onto the Letters of Marque. Douses it all with lamp oil, lights it on fire.

You know the drill from there. Sigh. So Giant Tia Dalma was in the first draft and DIDN'T get re-written. Someone must've really wanted that in there...

And the nasty part from this first draft that I hated, hated hated. Will stabs the heart because Jack has fallen from the rigging and both Chest and Key fell next to Will. He picks up Norrington's sword and stabs the heart. Stealing Jack's immortality, and making the whole thing an accident, rather than a sacrifice Jack made because he's a good man. EVERYONE would have hated that ended, even the hard core E/W shippers.

Before you complain about "cut" E/J bits in AWE, consider the first draft script. Will and Elizabeth more or less use Jack and throw him away. And laugh about it. This is why I think things were so VERY disjointed in AWE. If the final script wasn't written and new scenes being written and re-written by the hour...I can see why some things just don't quite make sense. Some are just left overs from the previous version. They weren't exactly practicing clean editing techniques.

OMG OMG OMG OMG>......Will and Elizabeth were basically using Jack, left him to the mercy of Beckett and Davy and then laugh about it......after all that Jack has done for them...thank goodness AWE was edited.....I tell you all...I can hardly contain myself...just what in the world is wrong with Ted and Terry...they know how much little children, people from 2 to 90 (as Johnny says) love Jack Sparrow...what would they think if Liz and Will used Jack this way....it would make Jack look totally dufus...like he was so good even the Whelp and the Gove's Daughter could take advantage of him......sick, I tell you...just plain sick....so this must have been what Johnny objected to when he called them out to his yahct that night...no way would he stand for Captain Jack being used as such!
