i'm loving your siggy, Willo.
I missed you all too!
Ah... Will... it's just so sad and complicated. Poor guy. Elizabeth has just matured beyond him by film 3... in film 1, yeah she's a teenager with a wild streak, it wouldn't have worked between her and Jack because Jack's seen too much of the world for her. But by film 3, Lizzie's been through everything a girl can go through--- and it's hardened her a bit. Making her fit with Jack so much better... but it usually takes people years to catch up with their emotional maturity and grown-up persona (ah, early adulthood...) so Elizabeth is still making decisions based on her former personality. Which is why it's so difficult for me to believe Elizabeth will be peachy staying faithful to Will and won't have any afterthoughts about it--- sometime during these 10 years, its going to hit her, who she really is, and the life she really wants. It's going to hit her that Jack fits the bill.
Alright, I'm off to read POTC continued! 🙂
i think people just get a certain image in their mind when they think "falling in love"-- like it has to mean marriage, settling down with a picket fence, living happily ever after. obviously that's not Jack. that's what we'd imagine Will doing. But there are other ways to fall in love and commit to someone, other more piraty ways...
Miz WilloftheWisp--I'm just a smuck for his love of The Black Pearl and freedom. There are some things in the world that are greater than one man-one woman love. Now it kills my soul to say that becos I am a huge old love addict. For me not that I can't see Jack forever with someone--maybe that there's too many possiblities. I could see Jack with Anamarie, Elisabeth, Sao Feng's twins, with the next woman, with his first woman, Spanish, English, Chinese, Indian--older than him, younger....makes no never mind. Jack, for all the wildness of the west wind, loves loves loves women. He loves the Pearl, freedom. And I love it that he loves the Pearl.
Not me....my favorite line was when he says "she's only a ship mate."...Freedom comes in many ways...but the Pearl did not represent Freedom for Jack..in fact....it was the ticket to his certain death...sometimes people find freedom in love....in being able to express themselves to someone in ways they never dreamed possible.....I just thought that Jack's feelings for Liz showed that he was a good man..and not just some Pirate obsessed with ships and womanizing.....
No Miz LovesTT, not a womanizier (?) just loves women--sorta of the wherever that man would be dropped he would find a way to keep on keeping on. I am always surprized when people say Jack was a skirt chaser only--I don't see it or believe it.
I had forgotten he said that about the Pearl. Don't know why it slipped my mind cos when he said it my heart broke in two. Still, his relationship with Elisabeth is unique. I cede the field--pax.
HA -see the thing about pies...makes you think twice....last week at the hospital....when I was there for my Dad's heart surgery...one of the entree' choices was Meat Pies....not me....I don't think I could bring myself to eat meatpies after seeing the delectable Mr. Todd and the ever so clever Mrs. Lovett cook up their pies! LOL
anyways......I love Sparrabeth...and I will love them forever and always...can't get enough...even after all this time....crazy as it may seem...
*slides down slowly against wall, bringing knees to her chest and begins to cry* OMG They are so beautiful together! It's love! The knowing smiles, the look of longing in theirs eyes! It's all soooo...HEART BREAKING!!! 🙁
Why does it have to be that way! When 2 ppl love each other shouldnt we be happy instead of feeling are hearts rip in 2...no more like a million pieces?
*looks at pics again...FAINTS* 😍
oh and LTT I know what u mean love....i will always love Sparrabeth too...no matter what! It's not crazy!
All just beautiful. I think it really shows just how big an influence Jack was on her when she's at the beginning of AWE, capturing that guy from behind just like Jack did to her, displaying all her hidden weapons, and standing up to Sao Feng. He's really rubbed off on her, especially in parlay when she's the one "selling people out" to further along her plan. And I think even though he missed a lot of that since he was in the Locker, Jack sees she's grown up quite a bit and admires that.
