Superman: Man of Steel

In the name of Rao don't FKN screw this one WB/DC. I remember going insane with hype and expectation waiting until July for Returns to be released. I went on a Superman marathon(although I skipped 4) with 1 of my nephews who didn't know about Superman. He had to see them. No blood relative of mine will be ignorant of Kal-El. He liked them even with the dated special effects, so I knew the character's charm is real so my hopes grew higher. I was geeking out worse than when SW made the big return to the silver screen. Halo 2 was big at the time...he was 12...dragged him to the movie with me. When it was over he looked up at me and said "Uncle I am disappoint" I couldn't find the words to express how sorry and frustrated I was. So I had to do this

Amen bro. I was highly disappointed by returns too and thought superman was a boring character as it was my first exposure to him.

You know how bad a superhero movie is when even diehard fans won't make excuses for it.

Word. But I do enjoy the fun parts, the plane, gatling gun, etc. For those few moments, I am awed.

The plane part was awesome. When that one snaps off and is coming straight at him, I was thinking "this is dumb, it's going to hit him and slow him down", only for him to power through it. Pretty much the only part of the movie where I had a smile on my face.

Saw the Second Trailer, Superman's speed shown off and so was Zod. Can't wait How exited with one the lowest and 10 the highest a 10.

The special effects were top notch. Which is why it was an even bigger disappointment. So much wasted potential. *Sigh*

Bryan Singer is the devil.

Agreed. TBF the dude was gold to me until Returns. Back then we didn't have marvel studios showing us how to make comic movies work, and X-men 1 and 2 were legit fun. I can't believe I really thought he was going to hit it out of the park. He seemed so fanatic about it. The way he cherished the reeves film...he just took it too far.

I can't stand a good deal of x1, and to me x2 was horrible, so to me he was the devil long before returns.

Wish I was so lucky back then. You were basically ready for the worst. What has singer done since Returns?

That Valkyrie movie.

To me Singer was already a big disappointment for destroying Cyclops on the big screen.

And yeah I was never too fond of X1 either. But enjoyed X2 (apart from the lack of Cyclops).

But Superman Returns was when I officially decided to hate him.

Poor Scott got shafted hardcore. Then X-3 makes matters so much worse its funny.

Man of Steel is the most anticipated movie in 2013 so far! Completely smashing the competition.

Over 15 M views in a few days? This movie is getting a lot of positive buzz right now.

Sure it looks great and all but i'm more hype up for Pacific Rim.

The Hobbit might have something to say about that. And Iron Man 3.

I still hope the movie is good though.

Sorry =[. To be honest I was really pissed off when he died. Hell I think everyone was, even people who only knew Scott from the movies. What a fkn dis-service.

yup. And now they want that same guy back for First Class 2. Just when I was starting to hope we'd get x-men movies I could enjoy...

I was...surprised when Cyclops was terminated, given that he is hardly a peripheral character. I guess it was to my advantage, never being an X-men fan, that I could roll with that, wondering, Jeez, where are they going with this? Obviously there was a lot of focus on Wolverine, but it seems like Mystique, eg, had more meaningful screen time than Scott (h'm, though perhaps for other reasons).

Maybe it's as simple as Jackman > Marsden.
