First of all, I'm a pragmatist, you fail because you don't have a coherent argument for the death penalty other than you like pathetic petty revenge. It doesn't serve as a deterrent, and the risk of miscarriage of justice supersedes your personal belief that life imprisonment is inadequate.

You seriously need to look at a career change if you keep this line of thinking and personal attachment because it will one tear you apart emotionally if or when you get into the system. If you cannot empathize with the other side how can you defend against it that is the sign of any good attorney or lawyer and you have shown that you cannot.

You don't need to empathize with criminals to be a good prosecutor. In fact it helps you do your job better if you can remain emotionally detached (Which I have no problem with).
I did not come to this opinion out of anger, In my opinion It's simply the best method of dealing with these monsters.

In my eyes they give up their status as human beings when they commit inhumane acts.
Up here in canada recently a teenager raped an 86 year old woman he had known most of his life.
In my eyes he is not a human being.
But like I said the one good thing about Canada is at least we don't allow sick organizations like NAMBLA up here. Cause under our Bill of Rights it says we can ristrict rights and freedoms if they infringe on others and if they are proven harmful to society.
