"Ah, curiosity. Well, what if there is an Agent behind the door?"

"I think most of us are at least somewhat willing to take that chance. I am, to see what's there."

"...then I would close the door, because the door is obviously strong enough to lock it in," Heph says, being a bit of a smartass.

"How do you know that? Maybe it can always be opened from the inside. Besides, the Agent might be quicker than you."

"Then it does not trouble you that opening the door might bring harm to you? Or your friends?"

"But it might also bring good. Aren't all important choices the same way?"

"Well, I'd rather hope there wasn't an Agent behind it...but even so. At least that would be our curiousity of what's behind the door taken care of." San replies.

"Harm coming to us is something more or less accepted as hazards of the job, something we risk every day."

"Few choices are taken quite so blindy, especially when the good of people other than you might be at stake. Can you honestly tell me that you are not even one small part worried that opening the door might be detrimental?"

"Reasonable risks that you take for good reason. Having an Agent kill your friends to satisfy your curiosity may put the quality of the reason for doing it into a unfavourable perspective."

Berserker gets up not being very comfortable sitting down and will go lean against a wall listening to all this.

"Sure, I'm worried. But just because something bad might happen is no reason to not make a choice at all. If we thought like that, we wouldn't be here."

Heph concedes that he does have a point, opening the door may be harmful, but that he has no evidence to say that it would be harmful at all.

"Right," says Lo Qi. "So it would be very helpful to know whether what was behind the door was harmful or not, yes?"

"We don't know anything of what's behind that door. It may be bad. But it also might not be. So knowing that would be very helpful indeed."

(damn posting at the same time...)

"Do you really like making decisions based on absolutely no information at all?"

"The last time San made a decision without information was...well, never?"

"It's not an ideal situation. So as I say, as in most cases in life, you would welcome knowing what was behind the door before you chose to open it, yes?"

"Does that mean you know how we can find out what's there without opening it?"

Heph agrees to that.

"I prefer to know all I can about any given situation before making any sort of decision, though at the same time, there can be times where you have no choice but to decide without having the information you need. I'd rather not get into a spot like that but it's foolish to think it'd never happen. So any information you could give us about the door would be greatly helpful and appreciated."
