HELL YEAH you god dam lazy americans

Please don't call us Yankees, as it reminds me of Republicans and right-wing Bush supporters, and I hate the president of my own country.

As far as WWII is concerned, the British were indeed in the war from beginning to end, and Churchill was an inspirational leader, and it is true the US didn't get fully involved until Pearl Harbor, but with our involvement, the war was won, without it, Western Europe would have fallen in no time at all.

But the fact of the matter is that neither you nor I were alive back then, so we didn't "save your ass" nor you ours, because we were not alive and cannot compare ourselves to men of those times.

And before- in your ignorance- you call us lazy and stereotype us, please keep in mind, though i feel the US military is being used irrationally at present, that the US Marines and armed forces, with no argument, are the best trained combat fighters in the world, nobody else comes close to the Navy Seals, Army Rangers, or Marines in fighting ability... if we're going to backtrack to the past, don't make me bring up the Revolutionary war, and you sar our text books are edited, indeed they are, I have proof of it, but so are yours.

True, all I wish is for Americans to stop stating 'We saved your ass in ww2' when they only got involved when they were attacked.

I agree with you, that annoys me as well, which is part of the reason I try not to think of myself as an American, but rather as a rational human being.

If you don't want to be called an American then you should leave the country. Ingrate.

Yes, but when you get into the question of what's "right" it becomes tricky, because everyone has their own definition of what's right. For instance, the Ku Klux Klan believes that it was right to keep Black Americans as second class citizens or even animals. The Nazis believed it was right to exterminate the Jew. So just going off the personal values of an individual or group can not be the answer.

Likewise, for decades it was illegal for women or blacks to vote in America. So, just going off what is or is not legal is not the answer either.

This conumdrum can't be blamed on the MU democracy, but rather on society as a whole. The values of a society is what forges both the laws and what is considered right and wrong. If a society is decaying, then it's laws and morals will decay along with it.

Oh I agree with you entirely which is why this is such an interesting situation for the characters in the MU, neither side is necessarily wrong............

Calm down, I'm sure it was a bit of friendly fire 😛 Oh no wait, that's a touchy subject for American's isn't it? 😈

Did I say I didn't like Americans? No. I was merely making reference to the fact that I don't appreciate assumptions and stereotypes and so prefer not to call myself an American, if I was British it would be the same, or Chinese or Japanese; I'm a human, I'm a martial artist, I'm ticked at the President.

You'd do well do refrain from directly insulting me again Psyquis.

Let's not get Mandella involved in this , he is on a very thin rope between Terroist and Freedom fighter.

Okay maybe there's some truth in that statement, but I wouldn't call him a terrorist.(He's usually called a terrorist by those who supported the apartheid regime) In the eyes of some people he is a terrorist but wouldn't you do the same if your people were being treated horrifically? The way the black people were being treated in South Africa during Apartheid was barbaric.(I mean sick, a few White Farmers actually fed a black man to a lion, and watched him get ripped apart. I think they even broadcasted it. Then there's there's some really horrible things, like not being able to sit down on park benches. Not being able to go to the beach. Not being able to walk outside, or go to certain areas. Always carrying around an sort of ID, without it you'd get locked up. Being mauled by dogs, random shootings etc) and Worst part is when ever a country placed sanctions on South Africa the USA kept vetoing it. Meaning the Apartheid regime still remained in power, doing whatever they pleased.
Anyway, I think the poor man is really sick now, sure he was involved in a few terrorist activities and was partly a communist, however I think he can be forgiven for his past actions since he played a major part in South Africa being a "free" country.

Anyway I guess I'll leave him out...he's still my hero though. 😄

Why? Because you're a martial artist?

Look, You're an American whether you like it or not. If you determine yourself to not be called one then you are giving ground to all the stereotypes and assumptions made about us. You just give up ground because you're disgusted with a politician. Are you really going to give them that much credit?

Hey, I like you Jade Lightning and I apologize for the direct insult because I like you. I'm not at all intimidated by a martial artist. However, I would most regret making an enemy out of someone who's company I have enjoyed thus far.

I'll end by saying this. I may not always agree with American policy or politicians. I'm not always proud of our history. I was, however, born an American and so far my life has been good. Even with my brother over seas in Iraq I will say that I am an American to the day I die regardless to how bad things get. I may disagree with my government, heck I may even rebel against them; but I will always call myself an American. Because rebeling is what we're all about. 😉

Point taken, but also slightly misunderstood.

I was not threatening you on the grounds that i'm a martial artist, I was merely trying to prove a point that that's part of who I am, I'm not saying I'm anti-American, but I- personally- don't like calling myself anything like that, an American, a Caucasion, no matter how much they may be true, not because I am disgusted with what I am, but because things change; I do not allow myself to be tied down with these mundane chains and fill myself with pride for my country, I fill myself with pride for my fellow man, whether they be American or non. I guess it's the rude comments made by some of the other posters stereotyping Americans that got me fired up. It's difficult to understand, through no fault of your own, and this argument is at an end with no offense taken- on either side, I hope.

Nelson Mandela had to make some hard decisions in his life for the good of his people. It's one of those "Does the end justify the means??" Questions and is again a subject where both sides are right and wrong to certain extents 🙂

I was born a Puerto Rican, Im a US citizen but I think most politicians thinks about one think, themselves. That point was seen more clearly in recent events in PR as politicians argued about themselves as to what wa sbest for the good of the "country" and ended up leaving a lot of people jobless for a few weeks and me personally think that the US president has done a terrible job as a president. I think the only true side of him can be seen in the documentary Farenheit 9/11. That said I think we should get back in subject.

😄 I apologize again. I think I jumped into your conversation while you were in that fired up stage and misunderstood your thinking.

But I'm cool with whatever you call yourself...Because it's your right as an American!

😆 Sorry. I couldn't help myself.

Back in subject. Has anyone read Son of M#6. I just read it and at the end of the issue the US steals some Terrigen Crystals from the Inhumans and after the US soldiers as a direct order from the president refused to give the crystals back Black Bolt(leader of the Inhumans) spoke a single word,"WAR". Earlier in that same issue a US soldier told his commanding officer that they couldnt possibly beat the Inhumans and after I finish I started thinking. What if the Marvel Universe's US are affraid of this war coming and knowing that most of the super heroe community respects the Inhuman the supers wouldnt fight them and the SuperHuman Registration Act serves as a military draft when the war with the Inhumans comes, afterall the Inhuman aint just a few superhumans themselves but a whole nation. An the US is using recent events to push for the registration for when the times comes the superheroes would have no choice but to fight in the war and are using what happened at Stamford,CT(hey, I live a few minutes from Stamford,CT myself!) as the perfect excuse. Thats just my theory.

I read it. BB whispered war and they only show you a glimse of the damage he caused. Hell if I were the government I'd hand the crystals over. Imagine BB going over to the USA and yelling "Pizza Brigade" ...*shudders*
