Actually you must not know very much about Cyclops, because he's closer to Bullseye than you may think. He has incredible sensory awareness of his surroundings, allowing him to have pinpoint accuracy and is able to use ricochets to hit targets an ordinary human, no matter how well trained, never could. That's exactly why we said Cyke wouldn't hit him directly. He could blast a giant pit right under Bishop's feet. Bishop fall, Cyclops win.

bishop's powers do allow him to enhance his own strength through energy absorption. he beat up a small handful of the savage land mutates while repeatedly absorbing energy from thunderbird in x-treme x-men. that's the most recent incident i can think of.

Isn't Cykes blast a concussive force as well? Meaning even if he did blast Bishop, the force would still knock Bishop backwards. And doesn't Bishop have a limit to how much energy he can absorb?

Yes, and yes. Bishop can be overloaded. And even though there have been instances where he hasn't, Cyke definitely has the potential to overload Bishop is he really wanted to. Say with a visor-less blast.
