Someone in Newsarama raised an interesting point...
"As proof, Nitro shows Logan the pills he's been taking...mutant growth hormone (MGH), which, apparently, when consumed by someone with powers, boosts their powers mega levels, which is how Nitro was able to vaporize all those people in Stamford. That means that, at his original power level, The New Warriors may probably have been able to take him down. As such their actions don't seem as reckless as they were before."
An addition to it...
"Especially when Daredevil was able to take Nitro down, and it wasn't exactly done in a quick fashion where Daredevil was in fear of being blown up when Nitro clearly needed more time to charge up to make a full blast that still couldn't possibly take out 600 people. It's funny how people keep blaming the New Warriors for a scenario that occured because they didn't know that Nitro was taking MGH. It should have been pretty obvious even without this issue early on that the level of power Nitro showed in CW #1 was not usual."
