Venom was nothing like the character... he was basically just a very angry, black spider-man. Costume wise, it was great. But, he never said "we, us, ours, etc." when adressing himself. He was never even called Venom until the credits... and Venom, in comics, was never particularily evil. He was destructive, but he thought Spidey was the villain. They just got the character wrong...
Your thinking of the Venom that came years later. When he first appeared he was just a hate-filled guy who wanted Spider-Man dead. The whole eating brains and protecting the "innocents" thing didn't come until later.
As for not refering to himself as we, I was also miffed at that but it was a minor thing for me. I was skeptical of Topher being Eddie Brock, but he really pulled it off. I'm in full agreement with En in the Spider-Man 3 is the GREATEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard it wasn't that good, but I'm going to see it myself, because the person who said that might be a bit more picky than I.
I highly recommend it. I was skeptical going in but I loved it.

Venom was awesome
Gotta love that Hercules 😂

I found the love bits in it cringeworthy and I think I laughed at the stuff that was meant to be serious. It was a good film though, Venom needed more screen time and a bit more of a back story imo.
But thats just a minor gripe really, on a whole I enjoyed it.
I'm with you a bit. The parts where Peter started to cry made everyone in the theatre burst out laughing.

I found the love part sweet.
It was sweet, but I'm still glad it was tempered by the large amounts of action.
I thought Spiderman was GREAT.
Except for the emo bits. The 'strutting' montage made me want to puke, and I laughed a little bit when Tobey started crying on the bridge.
I supported Tobey as Spidey, I thought he did Parker pretty well....but...Tobey just didn't seem to act that part well AT ALL.
But besides 'Dark parker' being completely lame, and a couple of the serious parts being a little laughable, it was a GREAT film. Definitely the best of the three in terms of fight scenes, villains, and much more.
I was REALLY skeptical about the snowboarding Goblin, but...I liked it! 😱. I even liked Harry's heroism. Shame he had to die....
Likewise, I was skeptical about Topher's Venom...but...I liked that too! Shame HE had to (apparently, but in classic villain style) die, too.
One more minor gripe was the fact that Tobey's mask was off...the entire friggin movie.
Again and again and again and again. Even when he's in view of people....it certainly didn't seem like he was trying to hide his secret identity too well. 😬.
Meh. I found the strutting montage humorous, which was all it was meant to be. Dark Parker? I thought it was all right. Granted, the movie (minus the generally awesome action scenes) was a bit of a emo-fest...
As I've said, my only real gripes are how bad Venom was, and the fact that Gwen was thrown in as competition for Mary Jane.
EDIT: Also, Soljer, I would've gone for the avy with the see through background.

Yeah, Gwen was shite.
Thanks for the input, any reason WHY, or do you just think it looks better?
One think that does piss me off at this point. Like Soljer said, how much he shows his face. Like in 2, actually that was my only real problem with 2. The train scene. That was total crapolla. How many time in the comic do we ever see Peter so free about not havin his mask on?
Few and far between thats how much. But the think that gets me madder the more I think about it is how obvious it should be to the people of New York in these movies that Peter is Spiderman.
He's the one that always seems to have the photos of him. Everytime a villain wants to fight Spiderman they always kidnap the same girl. No one has ever seen the two together in the movies and the green goblins were two very close people in Peter Parkers like.
I know its just a movie but damn still.
