The only reason Superman doesnt and wont die is because he is the star of dc. Same goes with Batman. The might be sidelined for a bit not the wont be out for too long.
Henshaw was obliterated and owned by Darkseid in Hunter/Prey (a significantly weakened Darkseid after being raped by Doomsday) - Henshaw is easily as if not more powerful than Superman - Thanos is easily on par with Darkseid (if not slightly more powerful?). So the way I see it:
Thanos>Darkseid>Henshaw>Superman
Now if we were talking about PreCrisis Superman/Prime we would be having a different conversation.

👇 Go read Darkseid and Henshaw's respect threads. Henshaw is at least on par with Thanos, if not worse. And he was merged with Apokolip tech and integrated into the defense network.
Thanos could never have beaten him at that point.

That version of DS was actually just powered up. "My powers are at their peak" was what he had said..and Henshaw was fighting Superman at the same time as DS launched his most powerful attack.

I don't have a problem with that considering how powerful the attack is and how Henshaw was caught.
Completely off guard while fighting Superman after DS was brought fully up to power with a motherbox.
He went out respectfully there...and this is before a few upgrades.
