On Panel proof has Superman and Thanos more as peers than as one being higher up on the hierarchy than the other.Supes has his "S" shield and Thanos has his "main badass" shield.
Both have insane durability when it's called for and have been proven to be above others time and time again. Both have insane tech and are good at thinking there way through situations.

thanos was holding his own untill odin had to use the gunger to put him down.

Durability wise they are pretty even. I haven't seen Thanos take a 50x supernova blast and he didn't look too great with his exposure to a black hole.
In King of the World when Supes decided to take over the world...Orion was no match.
When exposed to both their weaknesses (let's say Drax vs Lex in a suit with all of Superman's weaknesses)... Superman has come out on top.

Thanos took on Odin who oneshotted the Surfer. The Surfer is more powerful by Supes and thats the majorities opinion. Odin failed to put him down and thats a testament to Thanos durability.
