How so? Surfer has superor durability feats to supes as well as offensive output and has rarely ever been able to harm thanos. Attacks that oneshot surfer thanos has tanked with no trouble and has taken those attacks for prolonged periods. Its not a matter of surfer being written down its simply matter of thanos being that far above characters on that level.

Thanos is durable enough to take on Odin while Supes can't even take a few blows from Henshaw.
Thanos has shown he can easily react to peolpe rushing at their top speeds, so he could do the same to superman, that's unless people believe the people who have attempted to blitz/rush Thanos wouldnt use their top speed to gain a advantage.
And as for people saying he couldnt have taken morgs axe...well the godslayer gamora used on him wasnt strong enough to kill him.

Off panel and it's my opinion it was a clone anywho. By the way she is undefeated.
Supes has been bested by Kalibak, shadow demons, Henshaw, fled in terror from Zod after shattering his jaw, crushed by Atlas, downed by Konvikt until the bought him time to recover, left clutching his throat from WW after she slashed him, I mean you don't want to play this game with me. All you have is an off panel loss to an undefeated character. It was also a clone.
Thanos has taken on a more powerful Thanos and taken his blows just fine. 😄
