Why hasn`t this thread been closed? A single high herald with no amp or special edge against Thanos is spite plain and simple.

superman has trouble getting the majority over surfer and thor, both of whom thanos has punked.

"oh but you're forgetting the speed factor", nope, runner got the better of him with his speed (though it's debatable if big T was playing possum to get him to chat it up, and the comparison of runner's speed with supes is a different matter), but thanos was smart enough to stop a similar thing from possibly happening when the forgotten one tried that. superman would be no different in that respect, thanos would just raise his hand again and then the fight is basically transformed into a "how in a multitude of nasty ways does thanos finish this scenario?"
