fine by me, but both sm and ss get tagged by blasts and blows they should theoretically be able to evade all the time and I dont think that can be completely explained away as PIS

Don't mind long pig.. he's just pissed Thanos is his strange's superior as stated by strange himself

You do realize Superman gets hit time and time again. You do also realize he lets his opponents hit him also to take their measure. You also realize putting up Thanos' shields that Thanos negates any speed advantage Superman has. You do realize Thanos is portrayed at a much higher level. You do realize Superman has never beaten Orion his peer. You do realize while Thor and Surfer are peers to both Superman and Orion they can't even dream of beating Thanos.

Now please make a case based on comics. This whole cbr spin isn't working for you because it isn't what Superman does in character and even if he does Thanos has an answer for it.

thanos wins.

After just reading action comics #900, I am even more confident than ever that Superman is to much for Thanos !

Based on his performance against Luthor, who has acquired infinite power

After reading just Action Comics 1 I'm pretty sure you're wrong.

He lost the power the moment he tried to kill Superman...

The being was fighting him and thus limiting his power when he tried to disintegrate him. The power also fled him when he tried to kill Superman. Stated right on panel.

I was waiting for someone to ignore the context of this issue and try to apply it to Superman.

Lex didnt just loose the power, he lost his connection to its infinite source for a refill. He actually spent what he already had trying to kill superman. And what he had was enough to cause universal change

I don't think you read that right...

In fact, it says right on the page that infinite power fled him as soon as he made his decision to kill Superman...

Not really.

Lex only held 'true' infinite power for as long as he put the conflict between he and Supes aside (momentarily.) However, he lost that power the instant he opted to attack Clark (as Bran said):

...And he only caused 'universal bliss' when he held infinite power. Not before, and not after.

Then why did he retain power at all ? Why didnt he revert back to mortal form instantly ? The only posibble conclusion is that he was cut off from the refill station but still retained what he had at the moment he was cut off. And Superman had Lex burn himself off by tanking some heavy stuff

Here he goes burning Lex out (Lex even states as much)

Wrong. He was actively resisted and thus limited the first time around when he tried killing Superman. He then lost his powers when he used them against Superman. You're flat out incorrect. You don't even comprehend the story. Everyone else did.

If he completely lost them the first time how do you explain my previous post or this

He didn't 'completely lose them he was limited meaning a lot less than full power. The second time that was the catch he could keep the power provided he do good with it but due to his hatred for Superman he couldn't resist.

Simple explanation:

He reverted to what he had before he had the truly infinite power, but in a much more limited form (IE, every attack against Superman weakened him).

Long explanation:

It says right on the page that he didn't have infinite power anymore. Oh, that wasn't long at all.
