Not saying you're wrong, because stats are usually inconsistent, but...what's Starfox's strength feat to put him in CL75 range?

His Debut with the Avengers and the Battleship he stops it moving at one point.

Starfox is stronger than Spider-Man.

Exactly!

His arms are always outheld, which means that THEY must be exibiting an equal force to his flight power, to prevent him from simply plunging headfirst into the planets surface! 😄

And what are his legs pushing against? Empty air. He can't push something and have it be raw strength, unless his legs are on something solid. When he helps to drag War World, he's flying in empty air. It's psionics, touch-telekinesis, like I've said several times before.

Good enough for me!

That said, Superman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Starfox in all areas except, I guess, emotion manipulation.

you're not getting it, eh? ah well . . . obviously you DIDN'T read all the thread. and who could?? we added about 12 pages in 2 days!

i did my best and failed to convince him . . . 🙁

anyone else is free to try.

oh, and someone DID compliment an earlier post, smartass (what are you, like . . . 3, seeking others' approval and needing reassurance to feel good about a post! 😆 ), though i think one of my more . . . compelling posts was one about the relatively displayed inconsistencies of strength displayed by characters like thor and hercules. one of my more well-thought-out posts . . . 😍 course, that was back when i still CARED about this thread . . .

and stop instigating. you're not apollo creed, or mick, (movie depending) and i'm not rocky. fight the damn fight if you want it! i'm sure slade would love to tell you YOU'RE full of sh!t too!!

Unless it's all arm strength - essentially, using his arms to push off against his BODY, his body being the solid object, and his flight just holding him in place while he does it.

FUK no, I'm not reading this whole thread. And I'm not going to debate in it, either! I just came by to drop a present off to you, and now I'm leaving.

Well, is the goal to convince HIM or to convince the rest of the board? Obviously, he won't be convinced. Superman also argues from a position of weakness because of Thanos' reputation on the board. How are OTHER people weighing in...that's a better indicator.

What point did such a post further? You're pretty much saying, "All strength is relative, so who cares?"

So you're saying you give up, then?

Slade is my hero. He's a total workhorse. I'm staying faaaar away from him!

This issue of strength is irrelevent as to who wins here. It's about who can sum up more power. Odin is only a class 75 as well, but he put Thanos down because the power he could summon was greater than Thanos. And strategy - Warlock is one of the few who can outthink Thanos for a victory, though his strength is much less.

Thanos gets a perfect 7 in speed at Marvel Universe because of his teleportation chair, not because he has Flash-like reflexes.

The other Thanos handbook stats:

Intelligence: Superhuman (9/10)
Strength: Superhuman Class 100 (11/12)
Speed: Enhanced Human (5/10)
Stamina: Demi-godlike (8/10)
Durability: Godlike (13/14)
Agility: Enhanced Human (5/7)
Reflexes: Enhanced Human (5/7)
Fighting Skills: Although Thanos has generally eschewed physical combat, he has demonstrated formidable hand-to-hand fighting skills
Special Skills/Abilities: Vast knowledge of science, metaphysics, and the occult
Superhuman physical powers: Thanos possesses various superhuman powers, including the capacity to tap, transform, and direct vast quantities of cosmic energy for destructive force
Superhuman Mental Powers: Thanos has demonstrated psionic abilities, including telepathy, the limits of which are as yet unknown
Special Limitations: none
Source of Superhuman Powers: Thanos is a mutant member of the race of superhumans known as Eternals, who has augmented his innate abilities through bionic and mystical techniques

These are base stats; I believe many go up when he absorbs more cosmic energy for his use.

<<Well, is the goal to convince HIM or to convince the rest of the board? Obviously, he won't be convinced. Superman also argues from a position of weakness because of Thanos' reputation on the board. How are OTHER people weighing in...that's a better indicator.>>

i ALREADY said most people seem to be on MY side of the equation!

wallbash

as for the relative inconsistent strengths -- it showed it makes no sense to say someone is 100x stronger (and he WAS using numbers) than another character when even their base strengths fluctuate wildly. is thanos 100x stronger than midgard hurling thor, or the thor who struggled holding up a single skyscraper? 100x stronger than world-holding herc, or 100x stronger than the herc who couldn't budge a muspelheim gateway? i said thanos was stronger but didn't QUANTIFY the amount. THAT is the real issue we had -- the SCALE of difference in their strengths and the means by which to measure said scale . . .

in any event, by your logic, no more REASON to debate. i win!!

actually, it's not irrelevent to what WE were discussing, as the magnitude of thanos's strength WAS the issue, not so much the fight as stipulated by the thread. he said thanos 100 - 1000x stronger than thor/supes. so strengthe was VERY relevent.

I still don't see the "awesome aspect" here". It was a cool scene, sure, but nothing more.

Thanos was standing there, knowing that Hulk and Drax were after him (Let's get him ! - Thanos is mine !), he knocked them back a little bit and in the very next panel Hulk and Drax are still standing there, on exactly the same place as they were a second before Thanos knocked them back.

Again, no big deal. Gladiator can do that, Juggernaut can do that, Spikey Thing can do that...

And Superman can do it also.

Do you really think in your right mind that anybody can do that?
I mean you are so obsessed in downplayinig Thanos's might that it is clouding your better judgement. You think Juggy or Thing can slap Hulk and Drax around like puppets?

Enhanced human agility, reflexes and speed. That's it?

Slowpoke.

What's your Handbook source, by the way? It seems everybody and their mother has a different Handbook they quote from...

If he has the psionic will to hold his body in place while he pushes with his arms, why not just use said will and push with his body all the way? He does that; takes off through the air with a massive object, and his flying is doing all the work, not his arms.
Chicken or the egg...?

Fair point...could be either.

But I think it was pretty clearly meant to demonstrate that Superman is a STRRROOOONG Mofo!

^^^^^see edit, demi.

bastard. and i'll wait til someone says i LOST. THEN the s!t will hit the fan . . .

😆

it IS more fun with you around though. damn, i missed ya bro . . . 😍

My stats on Thanos are from a Thor fansite. The handbook is the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe - before the current 1-7 system.

Speed: Ability to move over land by running

5 - Enhanced Human: peak range: 36-65 miles per hour

Agility: Ability to move the body with flexibility and coordination

5 - Enhanced Human: beyond the natural limits of the human body

Reflexes: Reaction time

5 - Enhanced Human: beyond the natural limits of the human body

This thread is hard to keep up with.

Yes - and has more demonstratable feats than Thanos for strength.

Absolutely.
I mean you are so obsessed in downplayinig Thanos's might that it is clouding your better judgement.

I am not "obsessed", I don't know where you get that idea. The IG is one of my favorite storylines ! Every single Thanos fight in it is almost a classic... (Runner, Avengers, Champion, Eternity, Celestials...)

But there are a bunch of Thanos worshippers here somewhere on this forum, and they need to see things in perspective : Thanos can't fly (maybe levitate a bit), isn't invincible, isn't half as fast as a very slow moving Superman and is definitely not as strong as Superman.

You think Juggy or Thing can slap Hulk and Drax around like puppets?

Again, what are you talking about ? He punched them back for a very very short time and a split second later, they were up again, ready for more. Is that sooo impressive ? You are lucky I don't have a scanner.

(Or perhaps you are talking about another fight ?)

And yes, Juggernaut can do the same, and Spikey Thing also. Why ? Because it's not such a big deal.
