Can Spider-Man or Thor hear a gunshot from Iraq while in Metropolis, fly to Iraq, pick up cotton balls somewhere along the way, put cotton balls in the ears of the hostages so they won't go deaf from the sonic boom, stop the bullet, and knock out the gunmen before the bullet hits the target from a foot away? or move so fast that he vibrates himself intangible, causing everybody to fall, then create a gust of wind under each person to soften their fall before they actually hit the ground?

I didn't think so. lol.

You honestly don't find things like that impressive?

Check this sh!t out. Supes finishes off Livewire. Hears a gun-shot and pinpoints the location and rescues Louis before the bullet hits her. Even and point blank!

I saw that before. I know, I know, Superman is fast.

That's because Surfer doesn't "combat." 😛

lol, and that's why he sucks. 😄

Agreed. 😄

Seriously though, why does Surfer need combat speed feats? He's never thrown a punch in his entire tenure as a comic book character. All his speed feats are about flight, reaction time, information interpretation, or cosmic awareness. Besides, he can exist outside of time itself. Sure, PIS allows for Hulks and Rhinos to hit him every so often, but written well, he's totally untouchable.

Norrin has thrown punches while fighting Morg and Abom off the top of my head. But he does not do it very often.

Wrong. Marvel, as a whole, sucks.

It took me a while to realize it.

Think of how inconsistent Marvel comics are. Think of how much jobbing they do. Think of how much PIS fills their stories. Think of how uninteresting the stories are. And they wonder why sales are so low. Who wants to read this crap?

I've come to the conclusion that Marvel, as a comic book company, sucks. DC outperforms them, point blank.

Did your favorite character get owned recently or something? Another Squirrel Girl victim, then?

Currently anyways, DC just has the writers at the moment, save Millar, who should be coming back soon.

Ultimate titles are about all I see marvel having going for them.
It just keeps me so interested.

616 took a deep slide since its glory days of the 80s, early 90s tho.

Deep slide is an understatement.

The Ultimates is just lewd, and that's what keeps readers interested.

Like I said, Marvel sucks.

Not to get too off topic so the thread gets closed, but I don't think that you can just dismiss an entire company simply because you don't like the stories or plots. Both Marvel and D.C. have their fair share of PIS (such as the flash not stealing everyone of his opponents speed before a fight, or Superman not speedblitzing often) and jobbing ( i.e. Darksied). But both companies put out some quality products although they might not be to everyone's taste.

Of couse your free to have what ever opinion you want about Marvel, but I try to judge each writer or comic by its merits (ie all Marvel comics shoud have Deadpool in them! Screw Wolverine). There are good stories coming from both, although I do think D.C. is having the better year with the Crisis events.

This is true but Marvel does have some great writers like Kirkman, Slott and Jenkins. It's just that they get stuck on relatively unknown projects while hacks like Bendis and washups like Claremont run center stage. A Dan Slott Spider-Man comic would kick ass but instead we get JMS and his crap ass storyline, The Other.

Which is why they had the top selling numbers in 2004. They must suck. Also 69 of the top 100 comics were Marvel. They also OWN the stock market in comics with a monthly market share of almost 50 percent. Also, video game companies look to Marvel first for their ideas. I guess they must suck. Also, they're not inconsistent either. DC is very guilty of it, especially with Superman. They suffer from massive continuity conundrums, while Marvel has only had that problem with a few of their characters. Marvel only has one big problem right now, and it's Brian Micheal Bendis. Marvel is realizing more and more every day that Ultimates writers should not touch the 616 continuity. Now, for my personal opinion, I don't think DC has many interesting comics outside of Batman. They have too many heroes that get their powers enhanced every time there is a global threat. They need to just kill off the whole Justice League and start over again. Have Gog and Doomsday just kick the hell out of them.

Rant done. I feel better.

That was two years ago.
