Speed alone is more of an advantage than anything Thanos has on Superman. Plus Superman has matched Darkseid (who is probably superior to Thanos).

1. On average, no he isn't IMO. But he has showings that are not his average that allows him to step into Thanos' class of strength.
2. Without a doubt he is faster, but so was the Fallen One. This did not help him out.

Simply put Tyrant would have stomped all over Superman at average. He wasn't able to do this to Thanos.

Thanos has a retarded damage soak though, so Supes is going to be hard press to hurt him all while fighting off Thanos own attacks and telepathy.

I'd say Thanos wins it 8/10. If it was a physical fight only it may be more debatable but Thanos has a wide variety of powers.

Thanos hasn't beaten faster. Those he fought didn't use Superman level speed or beyond on him.

Superman's strength feats are beyond's Thanos.

Thanos is a brick with a shield when fighting someone as fast as Superman. When fighting someone operating at his own speeds then he is very versatile.

Superman is a lot faster and he is stronger. He can hit Thanos far more times than Thanos can hit him. He can freeze Thanos to slow him down for a slight moment to get free hits.
