no differences here. least not to me.

You forgot God...he's also an A-hole...

He destroyed two cities, killed women, men, and children, killed 99.9999% of the human and animal population during the Great Flood, killed the First born sons of Egypt, and sent his own son to get slaugtered.....

God is a violent bastard ✅

Naw..God is very kind, gentle, humble, and loving. Still he's no pushover, and won't stand idly by when he sees evil being commited. And he'll always provide a way, for those who truly love him, to be with him once again.

you're new aren't you? Scan this thread and you'll see plenty of evidence against gods goodness

I know Urizen will do this so since he's not here I'll say it instead

Holocaust
Sodom and Gromorrah
Hurricaine Katrina

Biblical Flood

I have news for you, those things had nothing to do with any god, they where are the fault of man (floods are not man's fault, but living in a flood plain is man's fault). Hell is a life condition, therefore, it is our fault.

All of those are actions can be attributed to God

He claimed responsibility for the Great Flood (whole world btw not just floodplains) and Sodom and Gromorrah.

An all powerful all loving creature would have stopped the Holocaust and most natural disasters

hell is other people I get where you're coming from

The Holocaust was the work of Satan, because God loves the Jews and Satan hates them so Satan bids Hitler to destroy them and thus create a new pure race of caucasian Naziz(i.e. blue eyes and blond hair).
Sodom and Gomorrah were evil cities. Immagine the amalgamation of Bin Laden+Madona+Satanism+Homosexuality=Sodom and Gomorrah would be more than enough reason to anihalate those palces.
Hurricane Katrina was Satan's fault or vice versa, when God judges a nation he does it by making natural disasters. Perhaps some people in New Orleans were secretly bad and do not tell me that they were all good people cause that's hypocricy.
Hell is Satan's kingdom, it is more like a metaphor than a reality. The lake of fire will last forever and hell will be included there to be burned to oblivion, so the real hell is the lake of fire.
The flood was nescessary because of the nephilims.
Now did I miss anything?

Why do you believe the bible?

He doesn't. He is an atheist. Nice guy too, I really enjoy discussing with him.

I disagree, he believes in the bible at a very deep level. Most of his ideas are based on the bible.

I am Ignostic (apathetic athiesm)

I do not believe the bible at a deep level (although many of its messages are good things)

If you were commenting on my style of writing when discussing the bible it is the same as if I was discussing The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I know thats fiction). As a general rule I like to discuss the bible and novels from an in-universe style as otherwise arguments are largely invalid (ie "God doesn't exist so there's nothing he can do" is a bad argument as it solves it from an external view).

Exactly what I think. This is why, arguments from Atheist who think they know the Bible yet don't understand it or know it as a whole do not work.

However, you have no concept (or you have not shown any) of the three vehicles, or the ten words. I have seen no mention of karma or cause and effect, or reincarnation. All the images in your writing so far are Christian. I would call you a Christian agnostic. However, I do not really know you, and none of what I am saying is a judgment on you, so please don’t take it that way.

A Loving God need not create more suffering and pain for those who cause suffering and pain.

You do not answer evil with more evil.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

And there is nothing evil about Homosexuality, quit that shit already !

What are the three vehicles and the ten words?

I was raised Christian and as a result it is the religion I have the most experience with. I understand the concepts of karma and reincarnation but I find them to have validity on par with Christianity (I have not mentioned them becuase neither has come up promidently in discussion).

I have no special love for Christian imagery (I prefer Norse and Greek) but as a result of these forums it is what I have discussed the most.

Cause and effect, however, is the basis of my beliefs about the world around me. If one takes an action it will inevitablely effect something which will in turn effect something else (no action is useless although it may be useless to the person making it).

I googled some sites for you:

The three vehicles
http://www.nalandabodhi.org/three_yanas.html
http://nichirenscoffeehouse.net/GohonzonShu/002.html

The Ten Worlds (I left out an "L", sorry)
http://www.sgi-uk.org/index.php/buddhism/tenworlds

I thought the ten worlds were interesting but I had trouble with the three vehicles concept.

Is there a progression from world to world or can you experience them in any order?

You can experience them in any order and any combination.

Example: If you are angry about an injustice and decide to take action to help people who are in need, that would be the world of Bodhisattva and Anger. But maybe we should move to PMs if you wish to ask more questions.

The order was the only big question I had.

This thread confuses me.

Satan is a reptile monster?

What.
