Right, they continued buying the series. So that doesn't explain why the sales for each issue continued to rise if it was just the same old people buying the books, even though it was glaring obvious Alpha Flight was out of there.
Actually it does as stated we were told AF wasn't finished I continued to buy the series to see what truely has happened to them. Same with everyone at alpha waves did as well, and with news of their off-panel death the more publicity the series got and the more people claimed and wanted answers.

I'm talking about currently, not the sales of the book a few years ago.And I was only making an observation. No need to get touchy just because what I said might have had negative implications about your Avengers.
Touchy? Nope, just throwing in my 2 cents.
Negative implications? I didn't catch that. Just wanted to prove that sales and good writing were not exclusive of one another

I don't buy that. You're really trying to justify the rise in sales due to curiousity about the state of AF? Never mind the fact the much more widely publicized last battle of Alpha Flight didn't manage to bring in as much readers as the other issues of the arc where the only mention of Alpha Flight was online (not even mentioned in the solicits and barely referenced in the comic itself). Seems like your grasping at straws here now

Well considering that's what was said by Bendis and Joe. Q yeah I think so. Also once again I already explained this twice, as after the news of AF apparent death people wanted to know more. You really didn't hear about the uproar did you? That's what was said

wow
thats... wow
of all the characters...
Strange worked so well as the omnipotent type...
Marvel needs to do something interesting soon, not just things they can sell. Something thats both would be nice.

Well I don't know how much they will depower him it's just that he has to meditate to do anything major now.

Where in my post did I say anything about sales and their direct relation to the quality of the book?
Your automatic response to "Anything with Avengers on it sells like hot cakes" makes you seem a tad bit over-eager to defend them, thus the touchy comment.

If they are then Strange is kind of overkill...
True enough, but not if he's depowered, or used only in extreme situations.

If people wanted to know more about Alpha Flights death did the immediate 2 issues perform lower than the issue of their death? Sales went up with after those issues and then even higher the next (which was the finale). If people were outraged about Alpha's Flights death wouldn't they pick up the issues placed right after the team's death instead of deciding to sit on the sidelines for two whole issues?

At least they can add Hercules and Thor , The New Avengers need some muscle, Luke Cage wouldn't last against Wonder Man.
I don't think the point of this team will be to tackle the big threats so i doubt they'll be much need for muscle

Point taken. Being that there were a few other detractors I guess I misconstrued what you meant. Apologies
New Avengers
good: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Ronin, Echo
bad Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Wolverine
First off, its obvious Spidey and Wolverine are there strictly for sales and Dr. Strange is WAY to powerful to even consider being on the same team as these guys
Mighty Avengers
good: Ms. Marvel, Ares, Wonder Man, Wasp
bad: Black Widow, Sentry, Iron Man?
Flat chested Black Widow = bad 🙁 😛
Sentry? Boring and no reason to be on the team
Iron Man? Depends if Tony is still going to be Iron Man after CW, but all signs point to him not 😬

*sigh* How many times have I explained it? Of course they went up as after the uproar people wanted to know what happened. Joe Q. and Bendis made direct comments about this after 16. Why would they pick up an issue which really didn't even showcase them? Most even wanted to bycott it, and it sucked with all the splash pages anyways.

As for having to meditate, I can deal with it. Meditation goes back to his pre-sorcerer supreme days where he had to boost himself with chants and such. It's fine.
There is no way that Civil War can end with good writing. They are all Skrulls or some crap like that.
