poop...what's he at now? Are there still talks about bringing X-Statix back?

Not sure... but more Doop would be cool... which is why he must be the final New Avenger!

Booo...bad downgrade, Dead-girl would be rolling in her grave...errr...bed.

I swear, each time I look at this (Avengers #221), the more and more I think BMB blindfoldedly throws darts at this cover to select his new roster.

That's why I'm saying Ronin is either ROM or Blackbolt.

How will the pro-reg people feel about the "If you're in another dimension you have no civil rights." deal when they're all thrown into the dark dimension...or like, hell.

He's had like...weeks of prep, he could take both teams at once if he wanted.

Doesn't make sense to put him in these comics unless he's fighting some abstract being that has come to destroy Earth while the heroes fight each other.

Have you seen the actual issue? it was an insult to AF, they were killed off-panel people were going to boycott New Avengers till Bendis the day after made his comments. They appeared in a total of two pages, but New Avengers #17 showed them fighting the Collective but only one panel.

There were those who wanted to see Wolverine's reaction seeing his "parents" die. However, Bendis really didn't do anything in that regard.

Oh I have the issue. I agree that it was a terrible way to send off Alpha Flight. I see what he was trying to do (make the Collective seem uber strong by taking out the team and having it happen off panel was kinda like how horror movies use that unknown to scare the audience). Saw where he was going but it just didn't work out imo. I also read his comments but I never construed it mean that Alpha Flight wasn't dead. I remember specifically that he was asking point blank if the team really is dead and he made some smart remark along the lines of dead as doornails, but then went on to say how he's opened the doors for someone else to come along and pick up the pieces. Anyway, I've wandered from my main point that sales for the book haven't been steadily decreasing. The conclusion of the Collective arc (with still no AF in sight) outsold the previous issues.

Well Spider-Man did appear on the cover of the Mighty Avengers and New Avengers cover-spread. However, yes he really isn't shocking material.

Did they say the last member would be shocking? Anyway, I'm hoping for Spider-Man but somehow I think we're gonna get tossed a curveball.

Wolverine is an x-man 😐

Not an avenger

Besides, when he's not with the astonishing x-men, or going on his own solo adventures or going on his origins adventures, where would he have time to be on the avengers?!?

😂 very true.

Finds time the same way Superman and Batman can support 12 titles each, have a combined title, run around with the JLA and still have day jobs.

Actually since Wolverine doesn't even work or worry bout secret identities he should have a lot more time on his hand than those other guys

Superman is on 1 team, the JLA

He has 2 books in the main DC universe, and one is in a parrallel universe right now

MarvelPrince usually i agree with you on most subjects, and i do see your point on this one, but Grimm does have a point, Wolverine should be limited to one team, and both his own series, which is more than enough. It's kind of redundant seeing him in so many different titles. They should probably give his spot to someone else who doesn't get the attention Wolverine does. On the other hand i know why they do it, Wolverine = $$, so i guess we'll have to deal with it. Which is fine by me seeing that i love the character. 😄

I say it will be Captain Mar-vell, if not Nova. Either way it's somebody coming out way out left field. Hell for all we know it could be "Hulk".

Luke Cage
Iron Fist-long overdue
Echo
Ronin- Captain america
Dr. Strange-long over due
Wolverine
Hercules
Spider Woman
Captain Mar-vell or Nova or Thor, hell it could be Magneto

Wasn't necessarily disagreeing with Grimm. Just pointing out that its not unusual for a character who's popular to be in many places at once.

I won't even pretend to be familiar with Superman/Batman right now but doesn't Batman also support multiple titles?

IIRC Superman is in 4 ongoing DC titles considered in continuity if you incl. JLA, and Batman is in something like 5 or 6 incl. JLA.

Thanks X. You certainly won't hear my proclaiming for Wolverine to be in everything cause that automatically makes it better but if Bendis really does something with him other than have him get beat up and generally be a slob around the tower I don't see how it'll be a problem.

I think what Grimm is focusing more on, is the being on more than one team issue. Which is true, b/c eventually his loyalties will be challenged and he might have to choose a side, then what?

But you guys do bring up great points about Bats and Supes. There probably in more monthly titles than Wolverine.

So has the final member been announced yet?

BTW, does anyone know the complete list for the Mighty Avengers? Is it just the people who are on the cover of issue 1?

Oh, well then sure I can see the division being a problem. Then again it could also make for good story elements. If they ignore his ties to the X-Men completely then I'll be dissapointed but if they're referenced and played on I won't have a problem with it.

Not yet. Later this afternoon

So. 6 Streetlevelers and Doctor Strange.

What a crappy team.
