Norribeth: the KMC fic

Started by Surreal_4426 pages

I write for fun too, Kate, but since it is an actual story, I like it to have some continuancy to it.

I liked your post, but I was kind of surprised with what you did, since it wasn't exactly what was originally suggested. *shrugs*

But I did get very frustrated when I would post something and it got totally ignored in order to do something 'cool' that didn't really make sense to the story at all.

Your post was excellent, but as I said, I was confused why Atropos managed to set up the test herself, and why she didn't really do anything, since it was supposed to be a challenge between the three of them, not just between Spoon and Elizabeth.

Nothing's going to be scratched; that's not how round-robin fics work. What you did is fine, I'm just...sad about my mermaid. I really liked her.

I'll post soon, hopefully.

Before I post, are there any loose ends that need to be tied up?

I'll hold off on my post for another couple of hours to see if there are suggestions for things that need to be finished up before the wedding, and then I'll post the wedding and the beginning of the celebration. Is that ok with everyone?

Surreal, welcome to the world of killing off characters. It is sad, especially when they're yours and you actually created them. It's like losing a friend. I don't know if you kill anyone off in anything else you've written, by sometimes it just has to be done although it is very painful. But cheers to you for writing such an interesting character. Spoon certainly brought a different kind of feel to POTC.

Loose ends in need of tying:

Where is Teague? What is he going to do?

Jack and Liz need to say goodbye-for-now. The story should end with Jack. This is his series and it would be a nice bookend to the end of COTBP.

Liz and Norrie need to marry. Drinks all around.

Maybe some kind of reassurance Atropos will leave the human world alone for a while....or not. It could be a little cliffhanger.

^^ Hello, I killed Gov. Swann, didn't I? 😛 I have a horrible tendency to kill off characters including the main character in whatever I'm working on. I just...really liked Spoon.

Post should be up in about 30 minutes. I have to type it first. 😛 Yes...I hand write everything first. I'm weird that way.

THE BEACH ---

*James and Elizabeth have finished kissing and are walking together along the waterline, hands loosely clasped. The sun is just beginning to set.*

James: Have you thought about what we should next?

Elizabeth: Get married, of course.

James: *laughs* So eager for that. I meant after that...where we would go.

Elizabeth: I always thought maybe we'd go back to Port Royal, where you can be admiral.

*James smiles and shakes his head.*

James: I don't think so. I know you wouldn't be happy there, and truthfully, I don't think I could go back there myself. I was thinking of something a bit more adventurous.

Elizabeth: *stares at him* You aren't thinking of turning pirate, are you?

James: *dryly* I rather think not. I was thinking more along the lines of the Colonies.

Elizabeth: There are a lot of opportunities there...*looks thoughtfully at James* Won't you miss the sea?

James: I didn't say I'd give her up entirely.

*James stops and kisses Elizabeth on the lips.*

James: You're too much of a pirate to ever be tied to the land for long.

Elizabeth: *indignant* I am not --

*James just gives her a knowing look and Elizabeth grins and shrugs*

Elizabeth: All right, so maybe I am.

*The sun has set lower now and a song sweeps up from the ocean, filled with celebration and mourning. James takes a step toward the water. Elizabeth tries to hold him back.*

James: It's all right, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: *not convinced* James, Atropos is still alive.

James: I know. I can feel her. As long as she's still alive I'll always feel that connection with her. *they listen to the song coming from the ocean* Spoon's people are singing about her.

*Elizabeth lets go of James' hand, watches him go to the water. He kneels down, touches the water as a silver light under the water glides toward him. After a moment the silver changes from a single beam of light to multiple streaks in the water, which fade away after a moment.*

Elizabeth: James?

*James stands and smiles at Elizabeth.*

James: I was just saying good-bye. You ready?

Elizabeth: At this point I'm ready for anything.

James: Then let's get married.

----------

Ok, I had the wedding all written out, but after fiddling with it for ages, I'm not happy.

I don't really know who should marry Liz and James, if it should be Random Pastor Guy or Jack or Teague...or who....

So er...suggestions are welcome, or someone else can write it, if you want.

Do you guys mind if I write out a wedding? There can always be one or two scenes after it.....hint, wedding night..... Just edit it out if it doesn't fit or could be better.

CUT TO THE PEARL

(It has docked on a very picturesque island with a white, sandy beach. It is a perfect day and the ocean has never looked bluer)

CUT TO JACK'S CABIN

(Liz is alone, wearing a simple gown, much simpler than her original wedding gown. Gibbs enters behind her)

Gibbs: Ah, looking at you makes me want to get married...

Liz: Thank you, Mr. Gibbs.

Gibbs: I'm not s'posed to tell ye, but he is out there.

Liz: James? (sees Gibbs nod) I know he's out there.

Gibbs: Just didn't want ye to be scared. (Liz hugs him)

Liz: Is Will here?

Will: (entering) I'm here. You look beautiful.

Liz: I'm ready to go.

(She takes Will's arm and he leads her down the steps out of the Pearl onto the beach)

Finish the wedding, wedding night/sex scene, end. How about that?

I can do the wedding night, if Kate wants to write the wedding. 😄

no way man. I dont write weddings. hahaha. It's all very lovely and I am really enjoying reading it, though. Please, go you on you guys! 🙂

This is 184 pages, ladies. That's going to be a lot of editing and pasting.
Fine. I'll continue but I don't want to end it.

(Jack is sitting on a large stone. It is clear he will be "officiating" this wedding. The guests consist of our band of heroes and their crew members. A few "extras" play a hornpipe, drums, and violin in the background.)

(Jack starts tapping the rock. It makes a hollow sound. He decides to investigate later)

James: Don't make me replace you with Turner, Sparrow.

Jack: I think you'd be surprised just how eloquent I can be. You see, when a man of the loquatious persuasion, such as myself....

James: Elizabeth's coming. (he sees her approach him and a wide grin spreads across his face.)

(Will gives her to him and then stands next to where his father and Anamaria are)

Anamaria: I love how it's on a beach.

Will: Elizabeth never really was suited for a formal wedding. (but says it lovingly as he puts his arm around Anamaria's waist)

Jack: You're supposed to wait for the 'speak now or forever hold your peace,' William, son.

(Will looks confused)

Jack: (speaks slowly) Everyone can hear you.

(Will blushes)

Jack: Now that the attention's back on me, and on the lovely couple before me, we can press on. We are gathered here, on this enchanting rock in the middle of the ocean....

(James looks at him)

Jack: I know. Shut up, pirate. Do you, James Norrington, take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife?

James: I do.

Jack: And do you, Elizabeth Swann, take this man as your lawfully wedded husband?

Liz: I do.

Jack: Any objections? (glares at Will) You may proceed to kissing now.

(Liz and James share a much deserved and very passionate kiss)

awe that was lovely. I'm so glad it was piraty. very enchanting rock. hooray! 🙂

I want to know what's in or under that rock. 😄

Do we want a brief wedding celebration so we can give all the characters a last hurrah before James and Liz get to go off and ah...tango?

Wow this is fantastic! Firstly I must say Kate, your post of Elizabeth's challenge was absolutely beautiful. How the people in her life came back in that haunting way was so imagnitive. And what a twist with Norrington/Spoon at the end. Wow!

And of course Surreal, you never fail to amaze me neither! How on earth can you think of a storyline and ending all plotted out in your head? Go girl!

Willo, always perfect, always spot on great posts!

A round of applause for all you girls! You're doing so well, it's fantastic!

Thanks for all your support!

I have to go to the doctors, get poked and prodded with various needles. I'll try to post the ending in a few hours. 😄

is someone gonna end it?

I've been busy most of the day. 😛 I'm going to type the ending now.

I lost my post. 😠 😠 😠 Let me try again. 😕

Are you ending it?

Yes...if I can ever get my Internet explorer to decide to keep working if I'm 'idle' for longer than 20 minutes. 😠 😠 And I'll keep that ending you suggested, because it's awesome 😄

I'm typing this up on word and the postng it first thing tomorrow morning. 😄

First thing in the morning for me is probably slightly different from first thing in the morning for others. 😛

------THE BEACH --- EVENING

*The party is still going strong on the beach. James and Elizabeth are in two seperate groups of people, and occassionally give each other longing looks as they attempt to listen politely to the others. It is obvious by the way everyone is positionted that the goal is to keep Elizabeth and James apart for as long as possible.*

Jack: *obviously gleefull* So at any rate, I was thinking, 'what would be a good distraction?' And that's when I saw the chickens --

James: *narrows his eyes at Jack and tries to edge away from the pirate.* Is there a purpose to your story, Captain Sparrow?

Jack: *smirking as the group closes ranks, effectively preventing James from leaving.* Oh of course there's a point. I'm providing the entertainment for this little get together.

*Elizabeth has made a break for it, and she scurries over to James' side, shoves Ragetti out of her way, and clutches James' hand tightly in hers, casting defiant gazes at everyone as if daring to try to make her move from his side.*

Elizabeth: They are deliberately being difficult.

Jack: *cheerfully* It's all part of the fun. So about the chickens ---

*Teague comes over and pokes his son's shoulder.*

Teague: I believe it's time now for the guests of honor to depart. *to James and Elizabeth* The cabin is all ready for you. I found some nice wine in the cellar, and the sheets Jack has on the bed are very nice. Off you go then.

*Teague shooes James and Elizabeth to the waiting boat, where Gibbs is waiting for them.*

Jack: Wine? You gave them my wine?

Teague: *smugly* I gave them your best wine.

Jack: And sheets...you gave them my cabin!

Teague: *more smug* Oh yes.

Jack: But...mine...

Teague: It's time you learn to share son.

Jack: *sulky* Oh sure, fine. You vanish for most of my life and NOW you want to teach me to good manners.

Teague: Oh...that reminds me. You know, you mentioned the name of man who married you the other day...

----CUT TO THE BOAT----

*James helps Elizabeth climb in, and they settle down. Gibbs begins rowing, and he grins at them.*

Gibbs: It'll be nice for you to be able to have the whole ship to yourselves. It's just too bad you'll be missing the real entertainment.

James: Real entertainment.

*From the beach they hear some yelling, Amamaria's raised high above the other voices.*

Anamaria: You told me he was legitimate!

*There is a loud crack as a hand meets a face.*

Jack: It was an honest mistake!

*The yelling becomes a bit more distant as the boat gets farther from the beach.*

Gibbs: *chuckling* It turns out that Anamaria and Jack aren't married after all. The man who supposedly wed them wasn't really a priest, but he was a con artist who had people pay him money for his services.

James: Oh my...what a terrible shame.

Elizabeth: Horrible.

Gibbs: And most unfortunate that the news slipped out on your wedding night.

*The three of them giggle the rest of the way back to the Pearl.*

----CUT TO THE PEARL ---- JACK'S CABIN

*Elizabeth is wearing a simple chemise and is watching James as he tries to push a trunk in front of the door.*

Elizabeth: *impatiently* James, what are you doing? Will already turned the hinges around on the door so that the door opens inside instead of outside.

James: This is Sparrow's ship. We're in Sparrow's cabin. Do you think he'll just let that go, even if Anamaria keeps him up half the night?

*Elizabeth thinks about this for a moment, and helps James shove the trunk to blockade the door.*

James: *sits on the trunk to catch his breath* I don't even want to know what's in there.

Elizabeth: *straddles on James' lap, whispers in his ear* Do you want to look? *she trails her finger across his neck, and begins to unbutton his shirt.*

James: I think I can wait.

Elizabeth: *continues to slowly unbuttons his shirt* Are you sure? Because I was thinking...*she toys with the shirt, as if undecided if she'll pull it off or not.*

James: *closes his eyes, enjoying the sensation of her fingers on his skin* What were you thinking?

*Elizabeth pauses for a moment, and looks at James, with his head tipped back and his eyes closed. Whatever she was going to say she seems to have forgotten, and instead of speaking she slides his shirt off his shoulders. James opens his eyes and watches her.*

Elizabeth: Oh...

*Her attention is immediately caught by a jagged scar that is perilously close to James' heart. She touches it carefully, almost reverently.*

Elizabeth: You could have died.

James: But I didn't.

*James smiles, and tips Elizabeth's head up so he can capture her lips with his own. He kisses her deeply, until she's breathless. They break apart, but only briefly. They are gazing into each other's eyes as James slides his hand up Elizabeth's thigh, pushing her skirt back.*

Elizabeth: *breathless* James...

*Scene fades to black as they begin to kiss again.*

I will post the very absolute final ending in a short while. 😄
