Can these IMDB rumours about Chris Pine be true? He's just about to break out as the young James T. Kirk. Taking on Hal Jordan as well...
Can someone like that headline two franchises? 😐As a rule it doesn't work out; though Christian Bale is attempting that right now with the new Terminator film.
Once upon a time, Harrison Ford jumped from Hal Solo to Indiana Jones; still...
I've read those rumors on other sites so there may or may not be some truth to them..

If we could ignore the no-doing-two-comic-related-films rule (Re: the Halle Berry rule 😛 ) I would cast James Marsden as Hal. Not just because of X-Men, but also his work in Superman Returns.
But that's unlikely to happen. They're shooting in Australia, so there will be local casting.
What about Guy Pearce as Sinestro?
Guy Pearce is a talented actor and could very well work as Sinestro

it didn't just mess with superman lore. it gave an inaccurate portrayal of superman while at the same time being singer's love letter to donner's movies.
and yeah, marsden was shit in x-men. it isn't all his fault, cos of how badly cyclops was written, but he was the guy up on screen...
Then again, there was that early casting report about Anton Yelchin...
He's not just young - he looks even younger than his age. 😬
Other name actors? I don't know. But it's better than having an unknown. A role like Superman - it's bigger than the actor could be; that's why unknowns are better there. A concept role like this, you need someone with a little stature to sell it to the non comic audience - just like how Robert Downey Jr. got everyone curious, about what IRON MAN was about.

No idea if how he'd look... he doesn't strike me as very Sinestro-ish but I guess it'd all be special effects-y stuff, so that might not matter, but he definitely is a damn fine actor. I thought he was great in very different roles in LA Confidential & Memento.
What the hell has happened to him, actually? He was in 2 great films in '97 and 2000 and hit the fore at the same time as Russell Crowe (with the same film), yet somehow I haven't seen him in anything for ages...

He was in Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler recently...
I am thinking of Daniel Day-Lewis for Sinestro.

Not much really. It was a desperate (and slightly pathetic) attempt at getting back on topic. I think he's a great actor though. I don't really see him as Sinestro though...
As for Daniel Day-Lewis, there is a good call. He looks sufficiently evil, he does a great conflicted yet completely insane bad guy, and it also helps that he's one of the greatest actors ever. I'd definitely take him over Pearce.

Give Guy Pearce facial hair and purple skin, he's got the Sinestro look. Daniel Day Lewis does too, but he's in his 50's now.
And like I said, the production will be required to employ a certain number of Australian actors & crew, so Pearce being Aussie makes him a good candidate. Unless you think Hugo Weaving, Eric Bana, or Bruce Spence would be better.
