And like I said, the production will be required to employ a certain number of Australian actors & crew, so Pearce being Aussie makes him a good candidate. Unless you think Hugo Weaving, Eric Bana, or Bruce Spence would be better.

He was in "Hes just not that into you". It wasnt a comedic role and he did pretty good. He got to put his hands all over Scarlett Johansson (lucky bastard). I still say Jensen Ackles is a perfect fit for the character.

Or Richard Dean Anderson for my dream, Emerald Twilight storyline with him as the aged Hal/Parallax just can't think of the perfect person to play Kyle that'd be the right age. Colin Farrell would've been great back in his American Outlaws days. IMO

Got an unconfirmed rumor that at Leavesden Studios - there's been some Warner Bros. screen testing on GREEN LANTERN and that Justin Timberlake was suiting up for the test. That does not mean that JT is going to be Hal Jordan, but just that he's one of the guys that they've been seriously considering for the role of our Emerald Knight.
We're pretty sure that the movie will be shot in Sydney, Australia, however, so we're puzzled as to why anything would be going on at Leavesden Studios in the UK.
Either way, Warner Bros. Pictures is planning a June 17, 2011 release for the film, so we should start hearing some official casting announcements soon

In a follow-up to this item, The Hollywood Reporter says that Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake are the three frontrunners for Warner Bros. Pictures' Green Lantern.
Along with director Martin Campbell and producers Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti, Warner Bros. has spent the past five months searching for the actor to play Hal Jordan, the hot-shot Air Force pilot who is chosen by a dying alien to be his successor in an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lanterns.
Other actors in the early mix included Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto.
The trade adds that De Line, Campbell and the studio each had a different favorite among the three finalists, making it difficult to come to a consensus.
The studio is targeting a June 17, 2011 release.

this movie has been ruined.. Oh how terrible it is.. Bradley Cooper can't act, but since he is coming off a major hit he will be on everyone's list for next film 🙁 Ryan Reynolds, can't see happening since he is Deadpool and Justin Timberlake, Hal Jordan breaking out in to song every scene..
I guess the studio didn't want search anymore, shame on them
