Carey's Words on the Emma/Sinister/Exodus thing

Emma was protecting the X-Men from Exodus' and Sinisters Psi Powers

Another reader -- "Magneto," no less -- was rubbed the wrong way by a current event as well, and is seeking some clarification. "Exodus seemed so weak in 'Uncanny' #205. Nightcrawler got rid of him easy. Shouldn't someone as powerful as Exodus be more of a challenge?"

Carey: It was meant to be a take-out play, removing him from the battle before he had a chance to bring his powers to bear. Yeah, you're right. Exodus is one of the mutants Sinister had in mind when he said that some of his team could take out the X-Men single-handed. But remember that Kurt is psi-shielded by Emma, so Exodus's first instinct -- to fry his brains inside his skull -- wouldn't work. By the time he starts to go for Plan B, he's miles away."

Ultimate Emma Frost

All I can say is that it's about time. Ultimate Emma Frost is one of the few versions of Emma who cried for apparently no reason at all. Even though the issue was complete crap I'm glad that it was all an act.

Cassandra Nova and her Nano-Sentinels

Remember Cassandra Nova's nano-sentinels. The ones that could assimilate their enviroment and adapt/grow. The ones that were used during the attack on Genosha? Well here's more of what they are capable of. Emmas secondary mutation(Diamond Form) allowed her to survive their attack on Genosha.

The Nano-sentinels can be used as a virus apparently and infect organic life-forms...and Scott thinks Cable did it.

Confirmation that these were Cassandra Nova's nano sentinels:

Marvel Earth a Telepaths impairment

I thought this should be added because it's quite famous most people know about it, they just don't know what issue it's from.

Anyway Magneto inhibited all long ranged telepathy by subtly altering the Earths Magnetic Field which in turn built up a wall of psychic static. All Earth telepaths have to deal with this impairment when using the powers over long distances.

Emma Frost Character Moments

Remember at the beginning of this thread we said that this thread will not only show her power feats but her character feats as well. Well here's two more reasons as to why Emma is such a great character. Note that Surge just took the New X-Men on a vengeance mission everyone came back maimed. Oh and Hellion is her favourite student...even over her Cuckoos.

I forgot to post this back when AXM #23 came out. Scott died...he actually died and even though the X-Men planned on Kruun bringing him back to life we got this genuine reaction from Emma.

Information on Psi-Shields and locating Coordinates of a group of people via telepathy

Emma Frost uses her powers to locate the coordinates of X-Force and scan the battlefield for casualties. We also learn more about Psi-Shielding. Even though Cable is using tech to shield his thoughts from telepaths he is still able to be located by Cerebra and he is still giving off a psychic echo. In close proximity and given enough time Cables psi-shields are then worked passed by Xavier.

Emma Cuckoos Moment

Bishop just betrayed the X-Men and is wearing a psychic scrambler but none of the telepaths notice the psychic blank because they're too busy doing other things. Anyway here are some Emma/Cuckoos moments. The scrambler does seem to be effective when the telepaths aren't trying to read his thoughts in close proximity though. Can't really say which is more effective yet, Cables Psi-Shielding or Bishops Scrambler as the scrambler hasn't been tested by the Cuckoos or a telepath in close proximity yet.

Mind Shut down

We learn of Bishops scrambler and Emma also shuts down Jamie's Mind after he reawakens from his coma.

The Exodus

New X-Men V2 #46
(16th January 2007)

(Writer: Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, Artist: Humberto Ramos)

Exodus is using his powers to give off telepathic interference.
Regardless of the interference she still manages to telepathically "freeze" Harpoon and discover that there is another telepath present.(Xavier)

By the way, it ,ay be showing of Emma's latent (or not so latent) telekinesis rather than a TP freeze - Harpoon is hanged in mid air and Emma points the hand in his direction- he looks like telekinetically suspended here.

Does not look to be hanged in mid air it seems like he was just about to attack her from behind when she stops him.

It's just weird Ramos art.

Hand and aura seemed to look TKish but maybe it's just Ramos art.

It's just Ramos's art. His work has always been difficult to decipher. At least Crapallo tries. The "Urk" makes it seem more like a TP Freeze then a TK Freeze. She shut down his motor functions.

Aww crap...wrong thread. Edit.

Faceoff Against Exodus

X-Men #207
(23rd January 2007)

(Writer: Mike Carey, Artist: Chris Bachalo)

Emma Frost engages Exodus in telepathic combat so that niether are able to deploy their other powers. They stalemate.

Cyclops then orders Emma to tell the New X-Men to engage the Marauders in combat. Emma and Exodus are still at a stalemate. Dust is inhaled by Exodus and cuts up his lungs from the inside assisting Emma in taking him down.

Colours of the White Queen?

Astonishing X-Men #24
(23rd January 2007)

(Writer: Joss Whedon, Artist: John Cassaday)

I think this badass moment deserves to be here. Granted this is not the first time something like this has happened but it's always worrying.

Shutting Down the Empath

New Mutants V1 #26
(April 1985)

(Writer: Chris Claremont , Artist: Bill Sienkiewicz)

Emma punishes Empath for screwing up. Empath tries to "sway" Emma Frost with his powers but she easily overcomes his influence and shuts the pathetic squirt up. She then mentally places a psychic inhibitor in his brain to prevent him from using his powers until she deems him fit and until she thinks he has learned his lesson.(Empath managed to influence a powerful mind like Magneto without him noticing but Emma easily shuts Manuel down)

Kang's Minions

New Avengers and X-Men America Supports You #1
(April 2006)

(Writer: Robert Kirkman , Artist: Udon)

Emma in her Diamond Form smashes up some of Kang's robots.

Emma and Scott in the Savage Land

Uncanny X-Men #495
(6th February 2008)

(Writer: Ed Brubaker , Artist: Mike Choi and Sonia Oback)

Scott is subconsciously second guessing himself and whether or not he made the write decision about the X-Men taking a break. Emma manipulates his dream and tells him to snap out of it.

Locating IronMan Telepathically?

Emma Frost is able to telepathically locate Iron Man's position and is also able to tell Scott the exact moment of Tony's arrival.
